So what would you do now and or @ 12 years old and being put in the scenario? Would you take the 5 one hundred dollar bills for whatever (??) or the build (??)

P.S.
I was surprised by his response (remember he is 12)

Id take the truggy, but I have $500 cash, and though worth more a kid wouldnt have resources to sell the truggy for profit LOL Knowing how greedy kids are these days (especially So Cal kids if anything like my Nephews out there) he took the $500 for an Iphone or a surfboard. On that note what in the he77 are you giving a kid $500 carte blanche for. I give the turds that live with me a friggin applebees dinner if they are lucky, then again they would never get straight As.

I would take the truggy but being 12 years of age would probably want the money to get Yu-Gi-Oh Cards

BP-Revo 07.17.2008 05:38 AM

I'd take the truggy hands down. It is definitely worth more than 500 bucks.

Though, for a 12 year old, the lure of 500 bucks is very tempting.

Arct1k 07.17.2008 06:14 AM

i hope you are getting him a motor to :)

rootar 07.17.2008 07:16 AM

I would choose truggy!>!>!>! lol that looks awesome with those badlands on there, and im pretty sure he already has a Nue for the truck he is just waiting on the motor mount from mike.

BTW shaun i forgot to tell yea i would put some loctite on the wheel nuts as i they dont make it all the way through the nylon portion on the nut.

brushlessboy16 07.17.2008 08:30 AM

id take the truggy... well if he doesnt take it Can i have it? :D

bl-is-future 07.17.2008 09:05 AM

Being 12 if he is at all into RC he would take the truggy. when i was 12 i was trying to find RC's i could afford. 500 really isnt that much for RC stuff. So it comes down to does he like RC or not. If he likes RC he will take the truck. Some kids just are not interested in RC.

I'll choose the truggy.

I was in the same predicament a few months back. My son(8 years old) wanted to have my supermaxx for getting straight "A's" but I didn't give it to him. Instead, I had him help me build his own supermaxx. I know his supermaxx is more than $500. Oh well.

If I was 12 I would take the cash. It's going to be about 25 more years before I get into RC's.

If life was different and my old man was into RC's when I was 12 I would want to hang with him so I would take the rc. He was into chasing women and hanging at the local pubs. So I started chasing women until I could hang out inside the pubs myself.

A couple of real nice rewards to choose from for straight A's. Way to go old man and congrats to your son also. That's great you guys can get you kids involved into rc. Something to do together and actually enjoy it also.

If it were me I'd take the cash. Dad is into RCs, so you know trucks will always be around and I could drive them quite a bit. Now $500 to a 12 yo is like $1M, and you could do anything w/ that. win-win.

Now you talked me back into taking Dad's cash instead of the Rc.

rschoi_75 07.17.2008 01:07 PM

I would take the money and buy a cheaper 1/10th truck and use the leftover for whatever....

Dang... shaun.... if I show you my old report cards, can I have $500 too? Do you want to adopt a 28 year old kid?

Well said. If he is really interested in rc cars right now, he would probably go for the truggy, although, if he really likes other things at the moment like surfing, soccer, or whatever, he may prefer the $500, as that is very tempting.

I get straight A's too... I'll happily split the $500 between me and rschoi? :mdr:

suicideneil 07.17.2008 05:31 PM

I'd take the money probably, and spend it on whatever I was interested in at the time.

Porn then...
