hey i got a few battery/motor questions

ive seen people run neu motors on a MM esc, how is that done w/o burning the esc up?

and with my setup, would it be just as good to use a venom 3s lipo, over the 4s maxamps? torn between the decision

bl-is-future 07.18.2008 03:30 PM

you should stay with the 4s for the same power out put.

running your Revo with a Neu wont cause your ESC to burn up any more than another ESC, and I wouldnt use a Venom or Maxamps pack if you want to go cheap go with a Zippy or True RC pack no less than a 4s 5000

gasshead 07.18.2008 03:37 PM

why not a maxamps? i was going to go with a 10k 4s, not all that cheap, 250 or so.

quality wise they arnt worth what you pay for, you can get a True RC pack that is just as powerful and wont puff for half the price, or you could get a Flightpower pack that is much better for a comparable price and you dont need 10000 mh dont go over 8000 you dont need the extra weight especially in a converted 3.3 the truck will start to become unbalanced

gasshead 07.18.2008 03:50 PM

where can i find true rc packs?

bl-is-future 07.18.2008 03:55 PM

you will find most people including me dont like maxamps cells. I (we) feel they are overpriced for the ratings they claim. Also they will puff very very easy. Out of 7 cells i had 3 left that were usable. That is not good in my opinion. Some people however do like the packs i just am not one of them.

well, how much runtime would i be looking at with the 4s 5k lipo from true rc?

jnev 07.18.2008 05:07 PM

You can get about 30 minutes... but it all depends on how you drive...

gasshead 07.18.2008 05:11 PM

thats awesome!!! all i want to do is make a 20 min main. the 5k should be plenty aslong as i keep it topped off during the heats
