Another Dead MMM

I thought I was one of the lucky few with a working MMM until now. I was doing speed passes trying to dial-in my steering and on the second pass, the truck just came to a halt. I walked towards the truck and I know something was wrong because I didn't hear the fan running. There were no lights too. I went home and plug it to the Castle link and it said nothing is connected to it.

The MMM was running in stock configuration with the exception of the wire added to extend the switch.

My setup is on my signature.

Now starts the most agonizing wait :no::no:.

I guess my nitros will get some attention again .

DRIFT_BUGGY 07.24.2008 07:07 AM

Unlucky, how much runtime did you get out of the MMM?

captain harlock 07.24.2008 07:13 AM

I believe this the last of the V1 models to give out smoke.

I commend you my friend.

Now order a V2.

I had been running it about 3-4 times a week since I received and installed my Tekno RC motor on June 11, 2008. Average runtime was 20-30 minutes since I only have a pair of 3S 5000mah Neuenergy lipos. I only ran my batteries until the LVC cutoff hit 19.2V once.

Oh well. I initially planned on exchanging it for V2 eventually so I guess I'm getting the V2 after all.

Alawi, if I order a V2, it will take me longer to have one since Patrick stated in a thread that the first ones to get them are the people with broken MMM. I'm on that category now.

well i think you have the most time on your controller, more than a day straight thats for sure. pitty it broke now and not in a week or so time when the new one is out. then you can have a neu controller and a neu motor! haha...

George16 07.24.2008 07:43 AM

I know. I'm thinking of selling my Tekno RC neu 1515 1Y now .

Edit- Did you guys have to send the receipt and the conectors/switch? I'm planning on calling CC tonight (Japan time) and ask them if I have to remove the 6.5mm connectors before sending the ESC.

bl-is-future 07.24.2008 09:20 AM

i still have a v1. Has 3 track days. 3 or 4 tooling around days. Total of probably 25+ cycles on a FP 5s 5000mah running a 1yf in a savage. I am however jsut waiting for mine to fail. As soon as castle gets some v1 fixed i will be sending mine in for a v2 regardless if it is working or not

badassrevo 07.24.2008 12:18 PM

Mine is still going strong. Lots of run time on it.

kulangflow 07.24.2008 12:31 PM

My V1 is still rocking too. :-)

captain harlock 07.24.2008 01:10 PM

Yeah well, I was just joking around.

It's a common sense for the first units to have their own "distructive" defects. I have great faith in the second batch. Considering all the mods CC has put into them, I believe they'll be much tougher than their previous ones. CC should also modify the cases of these controllers to withstand hard beating.

I think it is tough as it is. Although i secure mine good and in spots to where it wont get beat on. I hit some pretty rough terrain too. Sky high jumps, speed runs, all of it. Still going with not a single problem. KNOCK ON WOOD

Nephre 07.24.2008 04:34 PM

Mine went out today

I was humiliating a bunch of nitros at the local track when it suddenly just stopped 7-8 minutes into the race. It has lasted 12-15 pack but sadly it´s gone now

Well, no biggie, I´ll be sending it to CC to get a new one tomorrow. Guess I have to get a mamba max while I´m waiting for the new monster to arrive...

e-mike 07.24.2008 04:43 PM

we wait for the v2 version thats-it!!!!!who want 3 v1 mmm:lol::mdr:

Cowboy 07.24.2008 04:45 PM

Last race my V1 started to act up. It would just quit in a high load situations after a second or two it would work again. I had to turn off the low voltage cutoff and all was good.

Arct1k 07.24.2008 04:50 PM

That does not imply you have a bad MMM it implies you batteries can't take the load - Review your setup as you are stressing your batteries too much and they could puff...
