Brushless CRT for a newbie...
Hi guys, I'm planning to build a brushless X1CRT but need help... a lot of help.
I'm planning on using the MMM/motor combo on b-p-p and Lipo but other than that the rest is still up in the air. I did google the idea but it didn't seem to come up with much, mainly it came up with brushless CRT .5's, which I gather are 1/18 scale versions. I know I've got a steep learning curve ahead of me but I think its about time I got with the brushless bunch  Anyhoo, any help will be greatly appreciated, and I'm sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times before... I'm just trying to get what (at the minute) is a paperweight back on the dirt. Thanks again, Stu |
Sounds to me all you will need is a motor mount, battery tray, and some hardened pinions and your in business. O ya dont forget Deans connectors and motor bullet connectors.
Good luck with your build and post alot of pictures |
The .5s are 1/12th actually and are pretty much the same to convert as any other trug. Really all the trugs are straight forward. Look thru any of the build threads here. Just need one of Mike's motor mounts, a batt box (RCM or DIY) and then the ESC/motor.
Rip all the nitro junk out, put BL stuff in, and you are done. |
I think you really need to ask yourself how you will be using this truggy. Is it for racing only? If so, what run time are you trying to get? And what is the track layout/type?
|
It'll be just for bashing at the moment. I'm looking for a reasonable amount of speed, nothing too tame but nothing ridiculous either...
|
Well I'm still going, just every-bloody-thing on this truggy is cack... the bearings have gone, the screws are a mixed bag of everything and anything (often rounded off for more enjoyment) the diffs have had screws run into them so they are all gouged out for good measure... I'm on the brink of giving up... and this is before I've got to work out what Kv and everything else means!
As I'm replacing the diffs at the moment has anyone got a diff oil setup for it? Just any hassle I save myself from probably adds years on my life:rofl: Cheers guys... wish me luck! ... roll on the next lot of "surprises" |
