3s A123+B50 5s hacker = BBQ ESC
I started messing with the rustler again and decided to run a B50 5s hacker motor just for jingles with just 3S A123. The Hacker sport esc just smoked within a minute of use. Must of pulled some major amps.

yummy :yipi:

Where are the burgers and steaks from that BBQ.
the steaks became jerky from all the smoke and the burgers dried up.
it always sucks to see a esc go up in smoke. I fried a couple of mamba 25's and a couple of MM as well. The heart just sinks in bummerness. (i just invented a new word)
too bad it wasnt captured on video......
As the old saying goes, where there is hacker there is smoke. This is why I didn't get into brushless 5-6 years ago as the only viable ESC's were hacker which tended to have smoking issues and shultze which tends to have ridiculous warranty clauses.
Sorry to see it go though, it's always a disappointment. |
Yea it sucks that it went, cause I really liked it when it worked. But it's replacement came in today--> MGM 16024 with usb programmer dohinky.
how's the motor and batteries ?
You will be more than happy with the MGM. I wish it had more programmable featured like the CC ESC's but other than that it holds up well and performs flawlessly for me. It did not however like 6 pole motors even with the newest firmware though.

I got the one with an older firmware, so I can't update the firmware. Just finished putting on some plugs and turned it on. The motor just beeps and can't sync the throttle with my airtronics remote. |
