Another MM Q ~ Lawn Dart

As the title says I bought one of those $29 skate ramps from Toys R US, put a few bricks under the back for more air and was doing some 6-10ft jumps with my 8T till I lawn darted.. hard  The MM shut off and when I turned it back on it had real soft tones. Nothing came loose or broke just the MM alert volumes are about 1/3 as loud when turning it on or the intermittent beeps. Seemed to run fine after that just low volumes. Did I just jar the speaker ?Anyone have this issue ?

brushlessboy16 07.26.2008 09:42 PM

there is no speaker, it plays the tone by vibrating the motor, check to see if the motor is mounted tight

jayjay283 07.26.2008 09:43 PM

I heard that it comes from the motor before, I dont see how lol sounds like it comes from the MM.. better check it all out closer

brushlessboy16 07.26.2008 09:47 PM

here try this, hold the motor and flip on the MM you can feel it

mriccucci 07.26.2008 09:57 PM

Yea the sound definitely comes from the motor not the controller. I agree with brushlessboy check to see if the motor is tight.

i had an out runner on my last car, through an aluminum mount onto an aluminum chassis. after i got it all mounted the loudness of the beep scared me..honestly... it was vibrating th e WHOLE chassis..

In my Vendetta ST, when the Mamba25 beeps through the motor you can see the whole car move. :-)

jayjay283 07.28.2008 06:51 PM

so I played with the wires and it beeped loud again but I think I broke it lol. I took it off and compaired it to my other neu. The shaft goes back and forth in the can a few mm. (front to back) The other ones shaft doesnt move at all. The bearing looks a tad popped out on the rear endbell and the shaft doesnt poke out like it does on the one I didnt break. Heres a bad pic, should I send it to neu or take it apart and push the bearing in a bit ? this blows lol

broken on left, good on right

It must have been a HARD crash! I say send it to Neu, they are known to have good customer service.

Bye:mdr:

take the rear endbell off and inspect the internals. this will tell you what is going on inside.

Arct1k 07.28.2008 08:23 PM

Don't mess - Back to Neu I'd say

DRIFT_BUGGY 07.28.2008 09:46 PM

Far out, that must of been a really hard hit. Best thing would be to send it back to Neu

jayjay283 07.29.2008 01:11 AM

took off his connectors and the endbell cover, boxed the poor little guy up, filled out his permission slip and sending him off to grandpa Steves in Cali tomorrow
