I bash with a modded Savage and a stock Revo, but I found this site and was wondering, is there a brushless motor and LIPOs that I could install in my RC10 T2? It's been collecting dust and this would be a great revival!

i would say the lehner or feigao motors would be great. especially with a mgm controller. how many lipo cells?

I hope to put a Feigao 380C 7T in my T2 someday, the current Lehner 5300/Warrior 7018 system is kind of on it's way out. In fact, if the controllers weren't so dang expensive, I'd have that motor and a MGM in it right now!

I really don't know how many cells I should or could use - I'm a nitro guy and just starting to learn about this stuff.
My RC10 was just an entry into RCs. I didn't mod it, I just bashed it and put batteries in it, then I moved on to nitros.
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Do you have the charger and all for the lipos? If so how many can it charge up?

Nope - no LIPO charger - all my current equipment evolves around nitro. I run NIMH batts for the trucks and starters.

I think the ice is a nice charger but since you going to get some I think it is the scorpions. They have the charger and lipos in a fast charge deal. 20 mins 90% charge. They have the balancing feature built with a low voltage cut off.

On my backyard track which is a bit on the tight side, in my T2 I run a Lehner 5300basic motor, Schulze 58ce, and 3100 2s lipo. 6 cell gp3300 also makes this thing scoot along pretty well. I get about 20 minutes runtime out of this.

I think a basic 5300/4200 and either the BK 7018 or MGM 70A or 120A would be a good combo. The Feigao 370 motors have been getting good reviews, so one of those in the 4-5k rpm range with a 6-7cell nimh or 2s 4000mah lipo would be a good setup, maybe a slightly slower motor if you want 3s lipo, but realistically for a rear wheel drive truck a 2s BL seems pretty good!

If you are pretty new to electric RC (in terms of knowledge), I would not reccommend Lipo. One should have some knowledge about them before buying them. NiMh would suit most people when it comes to power.

That is why I was thinking the scorpions there metal man. Sound a little more fool proof. Is that right. Scorpions. I think that is the ones.

I would think that someone that is rather new to electric that may not be interested later on would not want to pay the initial cost of the Scorpion packs. I know that I would NEVER pay that much for a Lipo, unless it were the only one available (even then, I would probably go back to NiMh).

Good point. I still running the nimhs. I have not been able to get my self to spend the kind of money for batteries.

What I would like to end up with is a decent speed machine - I've seen the videos of the Savage, E-Maxx, etc. and would like to have an instant wheelie machine with good top end pull like the trucks I've seen.
I am a newbie to RC electric mods, but I'm also an aircraft mechanic which specializes in electrical troubleshooting. I think I'll pick this up pretty quickly, especially with lots of research on this site!
