Beware of Topspeedtimmy
 

I sent him money on the 14th for a bandit vxl roller. I still haven't received it. I also paid money for priority shipping and he told me that it may not have been shipped priority. I then asked him for a receipt from the post office to prove that he shipped an item and no response. Now I sent him a PM asking for my money back. Am I going about this in the wrong way?

Not nice to air dirty laundry in public, but if doing it via PM or email achieves nothing, it sometimes is a necessary evil to warn others about bad deals that happen, on open forum.

I still think we need a separate 'for sale/trade/wanted' section, to keep the main forum tidy...

If issues like this keep popping up . the mods may decide to stop letting us post FS items all together . Im sure RENE & BRIAN dont really want to deal with this .

Yep, some of us find selling on the forum handy. Hopefully Mr Timmy can rectify this problem... I hate to have people like this cause Mike or the mods any issues.

I don't speak for Mike or Rene, but I really don't care either way. It is kind of a PITA to close all the FS threads as they pop up to keep with the rules, especially with the frequency of those types of threads lately. I've even seen someone open a new thread because the old one was closed. My hope is that if we (mods) keep on top of enforcing the rules, Mike may let it go. I don't think anyone wants this to go away. I've sent him a reluctant email asking for a seperate sub-forum, but no answer yet.

It sucks that the deal may have turned sour, but that is the risk people take when doing transactions between individuals. I personally have sold/bought items here with success thus far (knock on wood). When doing these types of transactions, I always use Paypal because of the dispute tools. Unfortunately (or fortunately in your case), Paypal seems to favor the seller.

Notifications like this can definitely give people a heads-up for potential scammers, but sometimes there are circumstances that make contact difficult/impossible. I am going to close this thread now, but if everything works out ok, let one of the mods know (with a link to this thread) and we'll either delete it or post that topspeedtimmy is ok after all.
