whoooott lipo
my settup;e-revo
1515 1.5d lipo,flight power 5000mah 7,4 x2 25c elite 4800mah 25c 7,4,neuenergy 5000mah 7,4 25c gearing 21/68(try 20/68...19/68...18/68) my issue is that my pack(only the pack,esc 100f and the motor 120f)came really hot in 8 min(145f:gasp:over) timing normal,,punch a factory setting... i killed my two 4000mah 25c hecell(puffed)w.t.f can resolve my issue if i swap in 22.2 volt!???? with a 1515 1y or keep my motor and go in 5 cell???? |
Your motor has a really high KV so it pulls A LOT of amps from the batteries causing them to work very hard. You are using very good batteries, I just say move down to a 1515/1y and keep the same voltage. The 1y should work well on 4s at only 2200KV.

+1
higher wind or gear it down...ALOT |
can keep my 1515 1,5d and run it in 6 cell with a gearing like 16/68???? i always run 15 min maxx
the max temps that the motor reach is 121f on 4 cell,,, |
but even in 6 cell i think that i could not resolve my issue....the MAH of my my pack(ex.3 cell 4000mah 25c and 2 cell 4000 mah 25c)should be the same...however my pack should came whoott again if i run in 22,2 volt??
3 cell or 2 cell dont change anything??? |
yeah but it you dont have 6s already it could cost more in batteries than a motor.
|
Do all the batteries get that hot or was it just the hecell ones? I'd be suprised if you got the neu and flightpower packs that hot without the motor and esc getting hot as well.
I prefer 5 and 6s over 4s, but 4s is still good, and since your esc and motor seemed to handle it ok it sounds to me that the batteries just weren't up to it. If the other batteries get too hot as well, then you might need to change things. You are running a motor with a bit higher kv than normal, but people have used them before without issues, so I don't think that by itself would be the problem, because your only geared for ~40 mph. Are you driving it fairly hard? |
yes my driving style is little bit hard(ROAD RACE)...but my neuenergy and my flightpower came hot(140f)
i order four 11,1 lipo zippy-r 4800mah....:mdr: but now to prevent a issur with my esc(high voltage) should i re-wire the esc the prevent a issue (not kill the cap)???? |
Strange those batteries got so hot without other things getting hot as well. I guess you will need higher voltage.
If you were happy with the speed and power of that setup, then I'd get the 1515 2.5d (1650kv) for 6s. The rpm will be a little bit lower, but you can get the speed back easily with the gearing. I've used this motor a fair bit on 5 and 6s and I like it a lot. A 1515 1y will work, but I think you might just end up back where your were, over heating things. My 1y seems fast enough on 4s. You shouldn't have to do anything different to a mmm to be able to use 6s. |
Mike, as i tell you at phone yesterday, i'am using a Neu 1515, 2.5d/f, on 6s on my e-revo, and i'am gear 24/62 (because i've the RCM hybrid V2 diff with buggy ratio) to get about 41m/h, and after 15min of hard bashing (road and dirt drag), i've got 148 on my motor, 130 on my MGM 16018 and 95 on the li-po. But i'll change my pinion for a 22T, and drop it to 38m/h. 41m/h is too much speed for my driving style......................................and skill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So for me, the high voltage on lower Kv motor is the way to go. Put the 1515, 2y that you bough from me and gear it to be in the 37-39m/h range, and i'am sure you'll be fine. But you new pack is yet order, so if you ran 6s, do't run it with your 1.5d:oh:, put it on the 2y:wink: |

also reduce the motor timing to the lowest point the "D" winds dont like advanced timing it only causes increased heat and does little for performance |

Yah! right, and if you have an automatic seting for timming, like on the MGM controller, put it in automatic. |
ok david you talking about the ''no spark''...you thing that i need that for my mmm set-up?????

yes it's a must have for all controller, to save your bullet connector and your caps on the controller.:intello:
