What Batteries??

For my next project i intend to get the E-Revo and get either the MMM esc/motor combo whenever it comes out or The MMM esc and a Neu Motor (i was thinking 1515/2.5d or 1515/1y), im not decided on the route ill go, but the combo is going to be a bit cheaper so i'm leaning towards it. With that in consideration i am looking for batteries to run with this setup, and my current MA 3s 5000 batteries will not hold up to the current demands (so iv'e been told by many on here as well as MA). I'm not sure if i should run 2 x 2s packs, something like the polyquest 25c or 30c, or 2 x 3s (size permitting). Will 4s be enough? and will any 3s packs of decent quality even fit in the somewhat restrictive battery compartments of the E-Revo. Any other suggestions will be very helpful.

Thanks

I plan to run a pair of trakpower 2s lipos in my erevo with a 1515 1.5d. The 1515 1y should be great on 4s too.

yes i was considering those, wouldn't there be some necessary modification to the leads coming out of the battery?

Looks like removing one of the vents will make a large enough hole to bring the wires strainght out off. Just slide the battery in place and then plug the bullet connectors into it... Hope it works, as I do not want to cut the chassis...

yes i would also be hesitant about cutting up a new chassis, but your idea sounds good and looks like it will work. I wish traxxas had made the compartments a little bit bigger to fit good 3s packs...oh well, maybey eventually they will come out with a chassis with larger ones. Im sure 4s will provide good power, but 6s would be awsome.

That is a good deal!, but one 5s pack wont do me much good as it wont fit in the compartments. Though i could get two, dismantle them and make 5 2s packs.....havnt done that before though.

I just noticed that MA has some 35c 2s packs, im wondering if they are a true 35c pack or if they are overated like most of there stuff seems to be.

from another thread here, it seems as if everyone is skeptical, not even the enderland cells are at a true 35c YET. so id say its overrated but they would have to be better than the current ones you own!

shizzon 08.01.2008 01:56 AM

i guess if there even close to that they would work, even 25c, i doubt they would make them overated by 10c...either way i would probly end up getting the polyquest 25c or 30c packs, at less that $130 they arent that bad.

I sure wouldnt blow my cash to find out about the new "35c" maxamps, but to each his own.. For the erevo whats working for the newbs with neus (1.5d getting them about 50mph @ 22/58) at traxxas site is the Truerc 2s 8000s or the maxamps <cough>2s 8000s, or for 5000 you could slam a couple of those new PQ 2s 30c hardcase badboys which is what you may have meant already Link..... I thought on here someone had crammed a flightpower 3s 5ah in there ?Just my ideas
