Brushless Weather Sensetivity?
Im wondering, how much weather can a brushless system take? I got one on my rc18t. I was unsure weather i shoudl drive my rc18t or not, cuz the ground was still wet, But when i did, my rc18t seemed fine. My rc18t did get a lil wet but not soaked. How much abuse can the systems take? Coudl i drive in the snow (seen people do taht before). is there such thing as TOO cold for bl?

I've seen people drive through the snow too, but they were water proofed. I personally wouldn't run in wet conditions unless it was water proofed and i had lots of money lol.

Please don't burn the one you got up. We don't need you begging for two brushless systems. :D :p

LMAO. Water+ electronics=bad!

:L:

Ja, water and electronics don't mix. Take it from the big boys.
And for heavens sake, watch dat ESC, not much used Mambas around these days. |
My stuff dosen't even come out( nitro or electric ) if it's wet outside.

My Losi was almost fully submerged in muddy water the other day.I was livid.I didn't see the rut at the side of the road full of the stuff after the heavy rains.I had to rebuild the car,let everything dry out for a couple of days and then vacuum the silt out the esc.Ran it yersterday and it seems none the worse.Very lucky indeed, especialy considering it's a schulze:eek:

Simple wait for the loose contacts to appear gustav...
Lipoly's cant stand the cold.. They don't deliver the power needed anymore... |
Don't they keep themselves warm though to some extent?
Do you know if it's a large drop,at say 0*C for example? |
I drove them at -24C..
I could run a rough 5 minutes instead of the usual 25.. |

rc car action had an article about weather proofing. I see if I can find it. It was in the article section.
Edit I found the site. Here you go nbcaznmaster. http://www.rccaraction.com/rc/articles/ht_snoproof.asp Hope this helps you out. If you drive on ice you don't get much problem. it is the snow that you have to worry about. |

I don't think you need to worry about the motor so much as the ESC... Some clean their motors in Water. For a Maxx, on the cheap; Try a shower cap or two, also in the paper products section of the grocery store, near the baggies and such look for the topper with an elastic band commonly used for covering bowls. Damn, I forget the proprietary name. A search on TRAXXAS will do. |
The bk escs are pretty duraible. My brother jumped a 7018 of the end of a culvert pipe. It was not intential. I landed up side down submerged in the water. We ran down to get it so it was not just a dip. Pulled it out and squeezed the trigger on it and it was off and running.
