New HiTec 5955 servo problem
I didnt know for certian which forum to ask this in, so since these fit in numerous catergories, I'll put it here.
I installed a new 5955 in my Revo this morning, replacing the Spektrum Z590 that came with my DX-3.0 radio system. I used the stock servo horn for the Revo on it, and centered everything up with the servo at center (turned it on with the radio on, and made sure it was centered). I ran the Revo about 5 feet, turning the wheel this way and that way, then the steering froze. Wont turn at all. I removed the tie bar linkage, and it will turn the horn with that removed. I dropped my EPA's down to 100 and had the same results. It acts as though it doesnt have the power to turn it. But since the crappy Spektrum will turn it, this thing should make the Revo spin in one place. BTW, what does all the servo whine mean? It makes a high pitched whine without giving it any turn signal. I'm starting to reach the end of my rope here with this stuff. I would like to just once purchase an aftermartket item for this hobby and have it function out of the box like its advertised. |
stock traxxas horns are way different (not compatible) with Hitec, you sure it isnt just spinning in the horn ?.. The higher torque hitec servos sure are loud bastids.. I used these http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...345X&search=Go

I cant say for certain that its not

The hitec will take a different size servo horn than the spektrum servo.

The HiTec and JR servo are smaller and need an adapter to make the gear fit the Traxxas servo horns. If you removed the Z590 from the steering and replaced it with the HiTec. Check the Z590 gear it may still have the size adapter installed on it. They fit real tight and will stay with the servo vs staying inside the servo saver. May not even look like it has one on it.
Futaba and Traxxas are the same size My HiTec's 5955 are whinners sitting still sometime, but they shutup and do their job when thier put to work. |

That noise the Hitec is making is just due to the fact that it's digital... It's more accurate than analog servos so it'll almost always make noise telling you that it is searching for center.

Busy little beavers aren't they?
