best brushless set for crt.5?
hi,
first sorry for my bad english :) i want a brushless set for my crt.5 i ordered a mamba max 4600 set. i wanna use a 12 gear pinion and 3s lipo. was this a good ides or will the motor be to strong/fast for the car? thx |
The 4600 motor will work, but also heat up a lot. It is not quite big enough/powerful enough, even on 3s, to push around the CRT.5comfortable without heating up. I'd recommend the Feigao L size motor instead of the 4600. You'll just need to pick the right KV motor you want with 3s. The 8L and 9L seem to be most common on 3s though. You'll just need to gear up (around a 16t pinion) to get decent speeds.

a few guys at german forum told me the mamba is to powerfull for the crt.5
can you give me a link for this motor? you say its to small for this car? |
Yes, the Mamba Max motors are too small for the CRT.5. Here is a link to the motors in the rc-monster store:

I also can't seem to find it in the RC-Monster store for some reason. Here is another place to buy it:

damn, i cant find the right stuff for my crt.5
will the traxxas velineon work fine for my car? http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Traxxas-Veli...mZ200253320212 i have 2 zippy r 3s 4150mah lipos. |
For 3s, the MedUsa 3300kv 50mm (5mm shaft) would be ideal IMO. Much better than a Feigao, and cheaper than a Neu.

and wich esc?
mamba max, monster max? |
The regular MM would be just fine with an external BEC. The MMM would work too, just a little overkill.
I currently am using a MM/4600 motor on 2s geared for ~25mph and it gets a little too warm for my liking (~160*F). A ~3300 kv motor on 3s would be much better. |
where i can order a cheap mm?
in germany is hard to find castle stuff. |
