Novak GTB 6.5 on 7 cells?

Ok, i just bought 2 7 cell, 3800 mah batteries, around the same time i ordered the GTB 6.5 by Novak.... What i found out later : its rated for 4-6 cells, or 2s lipo..
Has anyone ran there GTB setup with 7 cells? Or do you know if it will fry it? I have a after market fan that moves some serious air, so heat shouldn't be to much of a problem. any help is great!!

My gtb ran fine with a 5.5 motor and 2s lipo. 2s lipo is about the same as 7 cells

I ran my GTB/5.5 on 7 cells in my rustler a long time ago. Did give it more power, but things did get warm if pushed really hard. Later on I just got a 380C/6L motor and was much happier w. that

Hmm, well, i guess i will be running it with the 7 cells then. Just keep a eye on the temp...

The BEC will probably generate most of the heat. If you're going to run 7 cells on that ESC for a while, maybe you should consider an external BEC to help lower the ESC's overall temperature?

IIRC, my HV Maxx ESC's BEC is good up to around 9.6v (only one lead powers the BEC), so I would assume that's about the limit of the GTB's BEC, if not a tad lower.

I would LOVE to see someone run the GTB on 3s lipo safely (with a UBEC of course).
