looking for more run time
i am looking to get more run time will higher mah packs give more run time ??? i am running a 2200kvh motor on 5s 3300 mah lipos in a truggy. if i change to 5s 5000mah will this help give more run time. or do i put a smaller kvh motor and gear different please advise any help would be good

higher mah=longer run time
All these provide better runtime:
- Higher mAh battery pack. - Higher voltage with a lower kv motor, geared for the same speed. - Gearing lower - ESC settings that tame the instantaneous burst of acceleration current. - Less "stop and go" drivestyle. Think "city vs highway" gas mileage... - Smoother terrain. |
does punch control settings in mamba max esc can affect runtime ?
yep, less punch will provide longer runtimes
50% will give more runtime then 100% ?
I Beleive it's the other way around on the punch control. Higher % limits the current more, this increasing run time
I think so too but need confirmed :)
Just to clarify something here; increasing punch control does not limit current directly. What it seems to do is gradually increase throttle signal (even if the user mashes the throttle) to allow the motor to spin up at a more gradual rate. Since the most current is drawn when full voltage is applied to a slow/stopped motor, this ESC-enforced gradual increase in throttle provides the net effect of limiting current.

ok so that dont affect the runtime ...

I run my 2s 7.4v lipo pack at 6.3v cut-off does it got a big difference in runtime from 6.0v and 6.3v cut-off if yes how much ?
This is funny, I'm running 5s 6000mah polyquest packs and I'm now trying for lighter weight and less run time so I just ordered 3700mah packs from mike!
