1/10 200mm pan cars
 

Any of you guys here getting into the new 200mm pan cars .

A new spec class is starting called World GT , 13.5 brushless motors and 4 cells.
Seems like a cheap form of racing and simple to set up .

Plenty of cars being released by BMI , CRC and now AE with the RC10R5 .

I'm not an on road fan but might give these cars a try .

I like pan cars. I'd throw in a 1506/1d with 4 sub-c cells and scorch the road...:)

They race these at my track. They carry so much corner speed is crazy!

There SUPER fun, and really simple!

You guys got any pics of any?

I saw the rc10r5 the other day looking for touring cars. Its sweet, wish we had a nice flat track around here

I was also looking at that car and admiring it. I wonder if any lipo would fit in there? If one could fit, then it would really be fun w/a BL set up

The R5 is not at all lipo friendly...

Look at the CRC GenX10, BMI D10R. Those are both lipo friendly, and are the most popular. Im sure the AE is nice, just no lipos

Thanks for the tip. Too bad about not lipo friendly. I really like Associated products...I have had many over the years and liked them all. The ones you listed, who makes them?

On the other hand. The CRC and BMI are top notch cars! Quality is excellent!

Id have the say the CRC is the most lipo friendly though, because it is made to work right off the bat, where the BMI takes a little changing around (not at all hard though)

They look like nice speed run cars as well. I think that RC10R5 could run two smaller lipo packs in series, one in front which would help keep the front end down and one in the proper battery spot.

My Dad had a fully custom Pan Car of some sort many many years ago. I had it for a year or two, that thing stuck like glue to anything. Coke + spray bottle + asphalt = almost too much grip. :whistle:
Interesting to see it is starting up again.

The new associated looks fast just sitting there.

Pitty pan cars are not popular down here in Australia .
I have a nice on road outdoor track near home which has plenty of grip and this would fly around there .
Hopefully once this class takes off it will do the same world wide .
Cheap cars , easy to maintain and set up compared to touring cars.
Here is the BMi car , saddle pack lipos fit no prob ( Maxxamps and SMC ) but the Trackpowers you just have to shim the battery stand offs to make them fit .

The car is designed for saddle pack lipos 7.4v as the handling is improved ,but stick packs fit as well down the centre .
The designer uses lipos so he has made a weighted tray for the saddle packs to bring the car up to the same weight as with NIMH.
Unlike other cars Pan Cars lose handling when they are too light .

He also designed the weight distribution so you put your esc and receiver behind the battery near the motor , short leads and very tidy set up .
Even though there is no class down here i am still buying one of the BMIs .

The only time you need to add shims to the battery stand offs is when you want to run stick packs down the centre and trackpower lipos because they are too tall.

Maxamps , SMC lipo saddles fit without shimming and don't need the weighted tray to fit . The tray is an option for those that want the weight of the car to be identical to a nimh set up.

Well still haven't bought a car but have everything else ready for it to run brushless / lipo .
Just posting the custom LMP Mulsanne 200mm body i got painted for the car . Haven't received the body but the painter sent me these pics of the finished job.
Now to get off my ass and buy a car .
