Outrunner BL in XXXT?

Can one of those small outrunner brushless motors fit in and run a XXXT or any 1/10th scale for that matter? I have the full on MM w/ Velinion 3s lipo set up in mine and I want to hook up my son w/ BL. He's five and doesn't need to chase down his truck to flip it back on its wheels all the time like me, but I'de like to get rid of all brushed motors around here w/ out spending $300 +. He's pretty good w/ it, but still likes to run WOT into trees, rocks, buildings, the dog, his little brother, me, etc.

I was looking at some inexpensive outrunner motors in the 1700 to 3000kv range, on 3s lipo. I figure it would be smooth like BL but not crazy powerfull. They have 4mm shafts on them...don't know of any pinion options.

My next choice would be a cheap BL from Hobycity more suited for a 1/10 truck, but I'm afraid it would be like mine....too much. I have an 80 amp BL ESC just need low power motor options.

if they make an S can 2000kv thatd be pretty tame on 3s, or go even lower to 1700 kv, either should get very long runtimes

Thanks that is where I was leaning toward anyway. I am looking to try one of their XLs for my Warhead conversion. I just figured BL came from the RC Airplane world and I never hear of anyone using the outrunners except for direct diff drive on some rare BL converted 1/8ths.
