Mgm 224.18 On 6s?
Hi guys' I was hoping for some advise on whether or not I should step up to 6s with my mgm 224.18, I am running a single speed inferno gt on 5s 6000mah with a neu 1515 2.5d f and was wanting to go 6s is this a bad idea or should I get a 160.24? Also I'm wondering if motor temps will be ok (the summers up here are only 75 deg or so). I'll incude a link to my photo bucket if anyone wants to see the setup. Thanks wes http://s283.photobucket.com/albums/k...icture_275.jpg

marriedfatnhorny??? HAHAHA good one...
What is the esc rated for? Looks like it says 2-5 cells on the side of it, but it may be 6? I have never run an mgm, but try to stay close to the mfg recomendations. 18 cell nimh is 21.6 @ 1.2v per cell. 6s lipo fully charged is over 25v. What are the caps rated at? If they are 25v then I would not try it with 6s. |
Ok, I just took a look and it says 2-6 lipo and the caps are rated at 50volt. I was just concerned because I've heard guy's say its best not to run an esc at it's max rating, and most guy's that run 6s have 160.24's. By the way doesnt kermit ever bone ms piggy (baby got back).

I would say 6s would be fine, they are rated for 6s and many run 6s on the 16018 as well as the 22418 without issues. I did get the 16024 for a little voltage headroom with motor brakes in a heavy Muggy on 6s and if I decided I needed 8s at a later date. My charger and BEC are rated to 8s also, so I figured it was a good option to have.

I would think that the esc should be fine with 6s, 50v caps almost seem overkill... I had an old avatar with kermit humping a stuffed animal, but it was deemed too risque' for this forum... |
I liked that avatar...you know for the longest time I thought kermit was wearing a sombrero until I looked real close one day and it saw that it was just a blanket in the background. as for the new avatar...like what's he doing to that bear?
