E-Revo to E-Slayer conversion Project
 

After making a couple of runs from my E-Revo, she is now ready to be modified.

The plan :rules:
- Make her into a mockup Slayer
- Use an Ofna GTP Porsche 911 body with stock arms maybe a Rally theme paint (body is about 13" while the wheel center to center is about 13.5"- 14" or so (buggy wheels but it will be sticking out of the body)
* or option is to get the Slayer suspension parts and Body
TBD
- RCM Revo Hybrid Truggy diffs
- Run a 2 x 2S2P 8000mAh TrueRC Lipo (4S) or fit my 5S2P A123 cells
- MMM V2 (I cancelled the order so this will have to wait)
- Powered by a direct drive to diff AXI 4120/18 (custom mount from Travis [MetalMan])
(Similar direct drive from sykeston34m)

Chassis is still being worked on by Travis so most of the parts are on hold. What do you think with the other things? :whistle:

Slayers suspension arms will work no prob but the Slayers wheelbase is shorter than the ERevo so the Slayer body won't fit your E Revo .
I thought of doing the same .

Easiest route will be to just buy the Slayer and get a normal Revo conversion for it, either ImpaktRC or RCM .

Will fit but tire/arm still sticking out thats why Im looking at the Ofna GTP body....but I need to see and fit it first to check if I can make custom support and make sturdy mounts for the body. If you know someone with a used one that will help. SLayer suspension would be a last resort. But thanks for the input

It seems that the Ofna body is harder to get than I thought. 2 Store already told me that they dont stock it and they need to order from Ofna. Anyway, I might be heading the Slayer Body/suspension after all.

On the other hand I got my hands on this items. Finally I was able to get to his listing before it got sold again.... :yipi:

Motor mount is still under development and currently Mike has no stock of the RCM revo truggy diffs. Im still waiting for his reply.

Go for a inferno GT body - Amain has them for 40 IIRC - I've just gone for a Nissan coupe...

Thanks for the suggestion but I think it is about 12" wide and I need something around 13" above. Ofna has 2 other bodies about 12.5".

I know its obvious :neutral: but just want to confirm where did you use the Nissan Coupe body?

Ok I just ordered Hybrid diffs from Mike and output drives but truggy diffs are still out of stock. Any suggestion what truggy diffs? Im looking at George's suggestion of Hyper8.5 diffs but I cant seem to find the gear ratio. HB Lightning PRO is a bit pricey but Im also looking at that. I have them on my EMAXX and they really can handle the power well.

Hyper series diffs have the typical ratio of 43/13 or 3.31:1.

yeah, Im thinking of whether to go with the hyper 8.5 (3.31:1) or the Hyper ST (4.3:1). Any thoughts?

I guess it depends on how flexible you are with the spur and pinion. Truggies have larger tires (effectively "gearing up") and are heavier than buggies, so the increased ratio of the F/R and center diffs helps to compensate.

If you are using a buggy as a base with roughly the same diameter tires as a buggy (~4.25"), regular buggy ratio diffs should work fine. Then, you can gear lower with the spur/pinion if need be.

Or, maybe you can have an adaptor made that will let you use the Ofna 51T spurs on your CD. That will give you more leeway in the gearing while allowing plenty of motor clearance - you just have to raise the CD because of the extra spur diameter.

I would play with the "parameter solver" part of my site and do a few setups and see what will work...

Actually Brian I am making a direct drive to diff outrunner setup :). Im gonna be using buggy tires or slayer maybe. just concern bout the motor having enough torque. But I think it will. Maybe if I go back to truggy wheels Ill just replace the diffs

Yeah, a direct drive is nice, but it sure limits you on gearing choices! It's one of those get-it-right-the-first-time-or-bust types of things...

Yup Im expecting to bust things but I do hope I to get it right the first time. When I first ordered my E-Maxx parts (a year ago) I have no idea if they will all fit and I was very new to the brushless (coming from Nitro and brushed setup) but hey I was lucky enough to get everything right. Hopefully I'll have the same luck :whistle:
