Temprature Guages

I am looking at getting a temp guage...looking for some feedback about the different brands and my options

not to hijack but yes i would like to know as well.......

I had a duratrax flashpoint and it failed on me in no time so i don't recommend that one. Could have been a faulty unit but you never know....

My Duratrax is still working after about 2 years.

The only trouble with IR-based temp gauges is the emissivity adjustment. You are supposed to adjust it for the material and color of the surface you are measuring. Polished aluminum will give you a different reading than black anodized aluminum for the same temperature. For this reason, I would prefer a contact-style temperature probe.

^^^ see like i said mine could have been faulty for it only lasted 2 months. And yes it was not the battery  I also did not know you had to CHANGE the emissivity per material. I knew you could change it but never knew why.

Some units have fixed emissivity.
