neu 1512 1y
Would this motor be enough for a e-maxx on 4S, or would i be better off getting a 1515 1y?
you'd be better with a 1515 1Y but if it is not heavy'd up with lots of alu it should be fine but you might what to look at a 1512 2D
If you live in an area where the temps are high like I do, I would go the 1515 route. In my experience the smaller motors have a harder time keeping cool in hot weather. In Houston it is above 95 ambient 6-7 months out of the year.
I'm not looking for a ton of power, but I need enough to beat my buddy's e-maxx that has a velion. I am also looking for runtime. what #/y or d would be the best for 12 cell nimh/4S lipo.
An emaxx with a single Velineon? Lol, pretty much any Neu 1509 series motor and up will do that. A 1515/1y or 1.5d will trounce that!
So if I got a 1512 2D or something like that I should be able to beat it no problem.:yipi: How long of run times am I looking at on 4S nue energy 5000mah lipo?
My two cents..
go with the 1515 1y s You’ll have low temps, will run great on 4s and you'll get around 20 min on 5000mAH (depending on your driving style) |
+1 on the 1515. Better choice for a monster truck IMO.
Would a 1515 1/y kill my diffs though I have the old E-maxx with 3.3 sliders. And how would a 1515 1/y run on 12 cells.
You may blow a ring gear, but it won't completely destroy your diffs. I'd get a Neu 1515 1y myself.
Judging by the results others have had, the 1512 2d is a great motor on 4s lipo- easily more power than a hvmaxx system, and geared correctly runs plenty cool, even in the erevo which is heavier than either new or old emaxx. That said, if your friend starts a game of one-up manship, you may quickly find yourself wanting the larger 1515 motor...
Yea I guess I should get the 1515 because I could also use it in my savage when I get it converted. Thanks again.
For 4s get the 1515, 1y or 1.5d. I run a 1.5d in my erevo on 4s geared for 45 and it stays cool, even in southern louisiana....
