You need to buy a good set of hex drivers, and a bottle of thread lock...

What charger and balancer do you have? I would charge the battery slowly, like 1.5amps and balance it at the same time. The go easy on the next few runs and do not drain it all the way. If it did not puff it should be fine...

TDC57 08.14.2008 06:57 PM

NO.. it not just you!! I lost tons of money when that happened to both of my PQ 30C lipo's dropped too.. I feel your pain BB..

Sorry for your loss.

brushlessboy16 08.14.2008 06:57 PM

i do, i have t-handles..
and the pack is on at 1.6a already
i loctited EVERYTHING... thiis truck is cused..

charger is imax b5 charger/balancer

tc3_racer_001 08.14.2008 10:12 PM

did it blow up? hope not. how the heck did it happen?

brushlessboy16 08.14.2008 10:14 PM

nope, i ran it down, then threw it on the charger and almost soiled myself when i saw 2.86 v

i just checked it all the cells are holding 3.9v

big greg 08.14.2008 10:15 PM

hmmm thats weird, if it balanced out and is not puffy, then i think you will be ok

brushlessboy16 08.14.2008 10:16 PM

*sigh of relief"

BrianG 08.14.2008 10:19 PM

Notice he said "I think". Nothing is certain; only time will tell. I would do a couple gently cycles keeping an eye on any imbalance before going balls to the wall again...

brushlessboy16 08.14.2008 10:22 PM

yea.. ill probably drive around my basement tomorow since it is raining cats dogs and turkeys. lol

rootar 08.14.2008 10:27 PM

did you do as sugested and only run the lipo %50 down the first 5-10 charges to "break it in" i always have done this. I have only lost one pack and it was my 1/18 scale maxmaps pack so go figure.

brushlessboy16 08.14.2008 10:31 PM

yes, did do break in.

Ugh... That's why I can't bear to buy expensive lipos. If I killed one I couldn't get over it.

I'd do as said and just run it. I've overdischarged a few and they ended up being ok. Just don't make it a habit. You may lose some life, but eh, it happens.

Sammus 08.15.2008 06:40 AM

2.86v is fine on its own, I think the specs say don't take then under 2.75vpc.

That said, it probably did drop below 2.75 if you were running it in its current state, and gave it a bit of WOT.

If its not puffy don't stress too hard. I haven't personally had a lot of experience with Zippy packs, but my brother has about 10 of them and most of them stay all within 0.1V, a few packs have a single cell that can strays out up to 0.5-1V though.

Crank up your LVC to 3.2 or 3.3 or something should help keep a a bit of a safety margin too.

brushlessboy16 08.15.2008 07:34 AM

i just checked the pack, all cell held voltage over night, all at 3.87-the cell in question was at 3.86, so im happy :D
