HELP,confused and upset
So I have a problem I can't figure,I'll start from the beginning.I have an Erevo with Medusa2000,Quark 80,CC bec running 4s.Last night my steering locked up and got no response. So I checked it out and the servos quit on me.So I started looking for a reason and found the wires were frayed on the bec under there cover right at the board. So I fixed the wires ,tested it with a cheap servo and it worked fine, put in a new servo, tried it out and boom there went another servo. So i pull the receiver and stick it in another vehicle everything works fine.So I use another CC bec, test it with my cheap servo, everythings fine. I put another good servo in,get ready to drive it and when I plugged everything in,poof another servo bites the dust. Now I'm out 4 servos ,about 200 bucks worth, and am very confused. Could it be in my esc? I have the red wire unhooked, but it seems that every time it has failed has been with the esc hooked up.But the drive side seems to be working fine.I'm at the verge of pulling everything and getting a really big hammer.

Ahh check the voltage output of the bec - If it probably giving 16v to your rx and hence servo's - That is why they are not lasting very long!
CC becs can fail to input voltage = output voltage! |
But I've tried 2 different bec's.I just shelfed it and pulled out the maxx.Until I can get a good idea on what it is.If 1 more servo failed on that thing today I was going to get my BFH.(big freaking hammer.)

There is only the bec and rx involved in this equation as the esc red wire is removed.
Either your end points are way off, you are using massive amounts of trim (both of these don't kill a servo instantly) or the voltage is too high - do you have a voltmeter to check the output? |
again, check the output voltage on those BEC's.

Just take out the BEC and try it with a RX pack. If it works then you know its the BEC.

Back story the last time I drove my maxx the esc smoked,a mm.So Thats the 2nd bec I tried in my Erevo.I had not messed with the Maxx since then.So I put my HV back in the Maxx determined to drive 1 of my MT's today.Get everything set up,turn it on,and the servos are fried. So now I think both bec's are bad,and chances are the 1 from the Maxx had something to do esc failure,or vice versa. So I guess it's robbing time ,again, for another servo.I think I'll write Castle a nice little note about this.
