Kershaw designs has the 6mm bore pinions... in a few different tooth choices. I have run the L can kb45 motors with good success. Not bad temps and they sure are powerful. They do draw some amps so good batteries are required. Check here: http://www.traxxas.com/PDF-Library/5605_manual.pdf page 31 |
how many amps do you think they draw
|
What voltage do you paln to run? I would say that a 6000mah 25c pack would be necessary for 4s.
For 5s and up a 5000mah 25c pack would be good. I would use enerland cell based packs, such as flightpower, polyquest, polyrc, thunderpower... Stay away from maxamps, these motors will probably kill all but the 8000 packs.. |
i plan to run 6s on the 8xl as well i know about maxamps do you think that the zippyh 3s 5000mah 20c packs would work or are the enerland packs the only way if so where should i buy them

Anything from there that fits the required spec. Only is being that the erevo has limited space in the battery trays: http://s115.photobucket.com/albums/n...atterysize.jpg 5000mah 20-25c 3s lipo that will fit will work well. There is a youtube video of someone testing the Kb45 with a prop (bench mounted) to simulate a load- it pulled 130amps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqN4fsWxKrU Vids of the Kb45 in trucks: http://youtube.com/watch?v=zxeY_ZqO504 http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mlc3gsyTQFI |
is that the continous load or the bursts

I run the 8l kb45 in a 1/8 on road car, and it will push a pair of trakpower packs (4900mah 25c, 4s total) hard. You will run 6s, but you are also going to be spinning heavier tires, off road. These motors are great, and inexpensive, but will not like cheap bateries... |
is it okay for the batts to have 125cs constant
|
So long as they arent from maxamps- I would treat that 125amp rating as more like 100amps otherwise. Take a look at www.cheapbatterypacks.com for the rated and real-world specs of some similar lipos.
