What Neu for 5s in 8T?

I just picked up a race roller 8T and would like to get a neu 1515 for it.
I have 2 4s and 2 5s tp 5000mah packs.
I would like to run 5s but could run 4s also.
I am looking for nitro like speed with good runtime,I only run it on a offroad track.
I have an 8b with a 1512 2.5 on 5s and love it,I am looking for similar power and runtime as this setup if possible.
Thanks always for the info,
Kevin

I was looking at a 1515 1y just not sure if it would be the best choice.

2.5d...this will get you about 31,000 total rpms annd very good run times...I get about 30 mins of WOT with a 2.5d/6s 5000 set up .....so I would expect a little more......if you dont need that much runtime you could go with a 2d and that would give you less runtime but more speed

I would go with a 2.5d...plenty of power for me.

i would go with the 1y you could run 4s for mild runs(still a ton of power) no gearing change and run 5s for wheelie poppin city

The 2.5d (1650kv) is good on 5 and 6s. It's ok on 4s, but depending what your track is like it might not have quite enough speed.
1y (2200kv) is good on 4s, and pretty fast for the track on 5s. If your track isn't that big it might be a bit too much on 5s.
There's also the 2D (2050kv) which will be quite similar to the 1y on 4s after a slight gearing change, and might not be as much over kill on 5s if your track doesn't need heaps of power. Could be a happy medium motor.

All three motors will work and won't be too far off each other if you adjust gearing, but which one is best for you just depends on what sort of driving your doing and what you expect.

not after the all-out top speed, just comparable speed to the higher end nitro engines on the straights, about 120 ft.
And that is not that important to me either, seing how I am on the straight about 3 sec on a 28 sec lap,but want great eff. to get the runtimes.
With my buggy,on 4s it is good on the track,at first was all i could handle, but after running the buggy on 5s now and getting some good throttle control,I will never run 4s in the buggy again.
I am thinking I may be running 5s only and possibly with next batt purchase getting the 6s tp or fp packs.
So I will have to decide between the 2d or 2.5d then it looks like.

HV is the way to go.........

say I go with the 2d and 5s right now,is it ok to run on 6s
or would I be better off with the 2.5 on 5s until i get 6s(not 100% sure I will go to 6s).
Thanks
kevin

I Run My 8ight On A 1515 2.5d/f On 5s And It Works Flawlessly....no Heat Issues/great Runtimes/and Is A Lot Faster Than People Think...

2.5D for me also. Tons of power on 5S but not overkill. I also ran it on 4S on the track and it still had good power. I was just as fast as any nitro, but I couldn't chase them down and blow by. Still had better low end, and would still win in a drag over 120ft, but it would be reasonably close. 2D on 5S is too much IMO.

The 2.5d is said to be the ultimate 5s motor and its what I have right now in my losi 8ight t roller along with a 5s 6000mah pq pack...I have not run it yet cause I'm waiting on my esc (160.24 mgm) to arrive.

kevin23 08.24.2008 09:38 AM

cool guys thanks,2.5d it is.
mike doesn't have any, anybody know where I can get one?
