MMM fan?

My V2 MMM has been running great except that the fan quit on it's first run. So, my question is, should I fix the fan myself or take the unit out of service and send it in? I raced yesterday and I was seeing 165's on the ESC w/o fan. Maybe there's a third option where CC sends out a new fan assembly???

If you contact them they can sent you new fans on their own once you check what is actually broken.

I take it fan no longer runs at startup when "cold"

I just took the fan out all together and replaced it with a Novak 30mm fan powered off the receiver. I cut the grill out of the top of the ESC case and I no longer have problems with the fan breaking.

That's what I was thinking but what about my warranty?

The guys at Castle told me once that unless you do some soldering on the board your warranty will be intact. Modifications to the case should not void the warranty.

Don't take my word for it though.

I have modified every MMM I've had. But the mods I have done are just to use an aftermarket fan wired to the receiver and to cut out the grill on top. I also drill a few holes in the case around the caps for ventilation.

Yeah simple, but looks like crap and makes the ESC even taller
