E-Revo/Maxx transmission

Howdy. I have a 3905 emaxx tranny kicking about, and I just bought an erevo chassis + a few parts to convert my 3.3 erevo.

The motor plate is the only difference I can see in the exploded views for the erevo and newest emaxx tranny, and it fits perfectly on the erevo chassis with the emaxx motor plate.

My question: Both of them come with a 68T 32P spur gear, which apparently (according to tower and briang's gear calculator) has a diameter of about 55mm. I want to run mod1, so I go to install my 50T mod1 spur of choice, which is 52mm diameter, and it rubs on the chassis. What gives? Can anyone tell me what might be up here?

Which way do you have the tranny pointing? If you have the slipper pointing forward the gear may not clear. I run the 50t mgt spur and it fits fine with the tranny pointing backwards. I am using the erevo motor plate and motor mount though, but that would not affect the orientation of the spur.

Could it be the different offset of the spurs? Or a diameter thing as stated?

why did you not keep the original MOD 0.8 (32 pitch)????

I run the original gearing and never had a problem:neutral:

The tranny is pointing with the spur at the back, wont fit in the other way. I'm really confused, there is a cutout in the chassis where the spur gear is, but just not enough. are there meant to be spacers or anything under the tranny?

I'm not sure the offset is different, and the diameter of the gear I'm using is smaller than what is stock...

I build the tranny from spare bits, I never had the original 32P gears. Plus I have about 20 suitable mod1 pinions and spurs at home, so it made sense to try and use them.

I'll have to get some pics up... will do soon.

It was the gear offset - my kimbrough mgt 50T spur was only half in the little groove in the chassis. I just did up the bolts on the slipper a little more and it was sweet.

Sammus, how did this build turn out for you? I was just thinking about all the parts I have and was wondering about the 3906 tranny on the new e-revo chassis. You have any pictures you could share? I'm only a few parts shy of a build, chassy being one of them. I was going to make if for a hand me down to a friend. Might be a cool suprise due to I told him I might have enough for a emaxx. I think he really likes the evo. Sits there drooling and I swear if he was a dog he'd be humping my g3r every chance he could.

Yeah I'll get some pics up, sorry I've said about a million times I was gunna update my build thread. Been stressing over some stuff at work, starting to chill now. I'll try and get some photos up this arvo :) My build looks the goods, still haven't driven it though lol, still have to modify my battery packs to fit in properly :)

Thanks. I understand the stress at work. It took me a long time to realize I was the only one stressing. Everyone else was at lunch at noon come hell or high water and left right on time. Well you know the old saying if you can't beat them.....

Don't get me wrong I still take pride in my work..... Have I shown you my latest conversion?
