The mother of all wheelie bars.

Then I thought about not using any wheels, but once I put that final little brace on, I realized a single roller blade wheel or similar (Rc plane wheel?) item would do the trick nicely. I also used some 3.3spec turnbuckles- means I have spares which can be put to proper use if needed. The length is just about perfect for me too- going by my make-shift 1st version, the front wheels lift about 3-4 inches off the ground, but no further, which makes life much easier, less time turning the thing over back onto its wheels and such. |
That is a "drag" bar not wheelie bar. LOL
|
That was the effect I was aiming for. If the bar is too short, the truck will just rear-up like a crazy stallion and still end up on its lid, so something a bit longer was called for... :mdr: |
I had a similar one (kinda) i made for my TT Fm1e. It was wicked crazy on mm 5700 and 3cell. Would wheelie just a little to much. LOL Hmmm i miss that bike :(

I still like the turkey bar better
Nice job tho |
Pfft..
Drag-bar vs turkey bar = FIGHT! = drag-bar wins by fatality. Bad luck dude, wasnt even a close fight in the end... |
Yeah you definitely need some wheels on there, or, there wont be much of it left after you run it! Have you seen this one? I bought one to put on the Rustler. New Era Drag Bar
|
turkey bar still wins, made of 1/8th inch alum and 3/8ths shaft :D
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...eliebar007.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...eliebar003.jpg lol u should put shocks on ur bar instead of turnbuckles :D |
Pfft, mine's made of 1/8" 6061 T6 L channel with steel bracing. I thought about shocks, but my truck is so incredibly powerful and heavy that it would just compress them in the instant it wheelied and still end up on its roof.
I like that other black newera wheelie bar- exact effect I was shooting for really more or less. The traxxas forum guys found some nice things to out on the end of my bar: http://taildevil.com/ (what's the black pads made from, anyone care to guess?) http://www.skates.com/Heelys-wheels-s/40.htm (one of the wheels) I like the idea of sparks.... |
I'd still take the turkey bar,
Did you know turkeys can fly? I didn't |
If you want sparks you need titanium...
|
Nice, Suicide! Also I very much like the NewEra bars...
