radiointerferences with supermaxx
 

Hi guys

I am still working on my interferences which I have by my supermaxx. So the configuration is not very special. I have a gorilla chassis with extension and a UE EXT suspension.

Now the problem is, if I don't pull the antenna from the transmitter, after 30 feet, the maxx accelerate himself. Also if the maxx is very close to you, 3 feet and you accelerate with the transmitter, the maxx don't move. If you try a second time, the maxx will move.

I have tried 3 different radio systems and have still the same problem. To elimate this problems, I switched of the koolflightsystem BEC and both servos and plug in a regular BEC with 4 dry batteries. How ever, no difference at all. I have also replaced the plettenberg with a feigao. No difference.

So last sunday I meet somebody which is very experienced building RC cars, and he tried his PCM radio. The experience was, that after 30 feet, without pulling the antenna on the radio, the maxx go in failsafe position. He's estimation was, that the aluminium is may be responsible for this interferences.

However, I have really no idea, but I think there are many supermaxxes on the world with a lot of aluminium. And I think these maxxes are running, and my maxx don't run.

Does somebody of you have an idea, or drive a similar maxx? The only thing I have not changed is the controller. I am wainting for my 9920 from Mike. Below you see picture of the maxx. Currently the antenna is not correct mounted. But the problems are the same

what controller is that? did you try using the controllers bec? also, does the steering work all the time or does it glitch to?

Ja, good question! Does the steering glitch at all?

And, with this other radio, it did the same?

It's a Schulze, Squee.

No no problem with the steering and the servo for the gearbox. No flutter of the servos at all, even when the transmitter is of.

Maybe you could try to insulate the electronics from the chassis some more. Try to put some foam under the controller and receiver, and put fuel tube over the antenna wire (between receiver and antenna tube)

If you want, I can send you some of the foam I always use.

GET that Ubec away from the speedo!

Do you use a PLL transmitter/receiver? (had about the same problem as you discribe it)

if im not mistaken he has a dx-3.

You said you tried a different radio system. Did you try a different transmitter and reciever or just transmitter part?

i had same problem.i have gm chassis and hv setup couldnt get any distance at all until i move reup higher on shock mount than attached new anteena mount off same shock mount,then found if i pointed radio towards the pavement ,i could get over 500 feet without any glitching. hope this helps.

Do you play near electric power lines? If so, then that with the alumnium chassis could be the problem. You could have a few loose screws on the chassis.

Thank you for your post. So electric lines could not be the problem, because I tried in different places and one time I drive with my car to "nowhere" (no houses, no electricity, etc.).

Also if I use my stock maxx with the 27 MHz radio in front of my house, there is no problem at all.

If I take the supermaxx the problems starts.

About the screws, this is the case, some screws are loose sometimes. I will fix them with loctite as soon as the supermaxx will be finished.

Do you think this may have an impact?

Well, on nitros if a screw is loose or a throttle or brake rod rubs against metal, it can cause interference, but without the carsitting in front of me it is hard to tell. I know that in some cases, it was the brushless system that was the causeand the reciever needed to be moved about 3" away from the system, but you have that covered. Are you running AM or FM?
