Super G-Maxx (Project M-23)
I thought might as well add my E-Maxx into the mix too!! :D
Here is the new dawn of a New E-Maxx separate from my Stock one. A slew of Parts arrive! Supermaxx and GorillaMaxx parts and those GA 7075 Bulks. I still have a bunch of parts I didn't photo. I don't know how some of you do it, but I can't wait to rip into em and its hard for me to just grab the camera to take a pic sometimes before I rip into the packages. http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...ting%20000.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...arts%20000.JPG Very Shiny.. I really like these arms. http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...sion%20001.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20Chassis.JPG That E-maxx tranny is all aluminum.. No plastic at all.. Even the shifter..Just like my Juggernaut project! http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...nny%200001.JPG I will be using Mod one Custom Spur gears and Custom Pinions made out of Hardened Steel to replace those 32 pitch gears. There are alot more things I will be doing but I will update slowly! I will be looking at more parts from UE, Gorillamaxx, Integy, HardCore, MIP, Plettenberg, Schulze, and others. |
I must say tho, I was such a Jugg2/TXT-1/Clod fan but after getting an stock E-Maxx and then upgrading it, I really like the E-Maxx.
I am still more of a Juggy/TXT-1/Clod fan but my liking for the E-Maxx has grown. Well here is a mock up before some of the driveline parts arrived. At this config, it only weighed around 5 lbs 4 oz. http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...M-23%20001.JPG Here is the assembly right now, tho I do have the body mounted and drilled. http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20A%20000.JPG As you can see at this config without batteries, one 8mm Steel CVD, body posts, wheels/tires, spur, and pinion gear, it still only weighs 7 lbs 0.5 oz which isn't too bad. A stock E-Maxx weighs around 10.8 lbs. Gotta see if I can keep this truck lower than stock with all aluminum. http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20A%20015.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20A%20016.JPG Here is the Extended F-350 Body I am going to use. I really like this body. I am little sad that I had to cut into this body to accomodate the motor and the front/rear bumper mounts. Oh well.. I gotta learn to cut lexan better. (I'll post pics of the cut body later) http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20A%20022.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20A%20023.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20A%20029.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20A%20030.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20A%20035.JPG I was gonna go all silver but why not try for a purple Super G-Maxx. Might as well.. I think it looks sweet.. What do you think?? I hope to get this up and running soon. Gotta go get me some 40 series Mashers and Bow Ties. Too bad the Proline 40 series wheels are so ugly.. Mambo and Velocity 6.. bah humbug!!! |
Here is the Body!
I did some minor cuts to the body to accomodate the motor. I really like this F-350 Extended body. I added a motor cover and a wing out of thicker lexan sheets. http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...-350%20000.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...-350%20001.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...-350%20003.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...-350%20010.JPG You're probably wondering, why the heck doesn't he have any wheels and tires after all that? Its a story for another day. LOL Anyhow, Yes they are on their way but I will have to settle with Proline 40 series Velocity 6 with 40 series Mashers until I get my Custom wheels. I did get an extra set of 40 series bowties just incase the mashers don't hold up and perform too well. I can't wait till I get some custom 40 series beadlocks and yes I will emphasize less weight on these compared to my Jugg2 and TXT-1 beadlocks. The JuggMaxx/JumboMaxx custom beadlock wheels with tires on that I have are about 1 lbs 9 oz and the TXT-1 Custom Beadlocks with Tires on my TXT-1 are about 1 lbs 6.8 ozs, which aren't too bad considering I didn't care too much about weight and those are more traditional straight axle looking Monster Trucks anyhow. I will duct tape the insides of the tires to help it from ballooning up. It might help but not sure if it will cure it. |
Finally some pics with wheels on. Only thing missing is now the Spur and pinion to run it. I could just slap on the strobe and use the Ofna for now but I guess I will have to think about it before I buy another set just to test my E-Maxx. (The First set was sent out to get it modified to have custom single piece spur gears)
By the way I am still waiting on my custom 3D beadlock wheels so we will see whenever that gets done Anyhow here are some new pics I took.. I might have to lower the ride slightly, I will have to see. I also put a slight toe-in in the rear, like 1 degree or so. http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20B%20019.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20B%20016.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20B%20022.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20B%20005.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20B%20006.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20B%20012.JPG http://www.juggernaut23.com/E-Maxx%2...%20B%20015.JPG I am still waiting on my Skid plate and wheelie bar. I need to take some new pics of the completed Super G-Maxx with the new G3 Suspension Upper A-Arms I just got from GorillaMaxx. I have some vids and I will post em later this week! |
Here is the Video Clip.
Its actually one split into 4. The original was like 590 Megs. My Stock E-Maxx and my Super G-Maxx is running in the videos. In the clips there is a good amount of footage of the Stock E-Maxx as well. Enjoy! Super G-Maxx Test Run Part 1 (4.7 Megs) Super G-Maxx Test Run Part 2 (8.3 Megs) Super G-Maxx Test Run Part 3 (8.0 Megs) Super G-Maxx Test Run Part 4 (10.8 Megs) |

I have to say - candymans truck got nothin on you - That is one absolutely awesome GMAXX - And for sure an incredible set of pictures to go with it - You guys are gonna make me build another Sweet A$$ G-Maxx. Not to run mind you - Just to bring around to the tracks and have people ( and myself mostly ) Drool over.. What else can i say - completely awesome.......
As for the ballooning tires - you might wanna try those Trinity Low Roll Foams - They work awesome - No more pizza cutter tires for me.... |
Chase023,
Glad to see ya here. Any luck on those Deans? Also where did you get your tranny grears? There is only one place I know of that made them and no longer do. |
Nice to see you here Chase. I honestly was going to stop working on my maxx but after seeing your truck again things change. I just got to get me a big maxx now.:D
|
Impressive! I have built and seen quite a few sweet e-maxxes, and that is without a doubt one of the nicest I have seen. It is pretty fast, too (although I would like to drag race it with one of my Feigao setups on the same cell count).
HotnCold - the low roll foams don't fit in the 40 series tires to my knowledge (well, they will fit, but won't be as effective:)) |
didnt remember they were 40 series - it was quite early in the morning when i posted - :-p

HotNCold, Thanks for looking. I actually had the G-Maxx chassis and the Plettenberg BigMaxximum when Candyman was building his BlingMaxx. He got his first then after like 2 weeks I got mine. I had it almost a year and now I am using it. My tires aren't balooning due to my duct taping those tires hehe..
Netman, I am still looking.. All I remember is that I bought those deans accidently when I bought something else. I bought two sets of the Ultramaxx gears when it first came out from Dan, the guy who started the project to make em. During that time I was thinking about getting them made out of stainless steel or hardened steel instead of aluminum. RC4x4Nut, thanks.. I am glad I could be of any help to get you back on Maxxing. hehe.. I must say tho my first is the Juggernaut and my Juggernaut project actually dwarfs this, isn't that funny? It is still going on tho.. Custom Custom Custom.. takes so long to get parts made and done.. phew.. RC-Monster Mike Thanks.. I do need to change the 72T spur gear I was using in the runs. Right now I just put in a 65T after I installed my new G3 Upgraded Upper A-Arms (I replaced the original G3 arms the other day because they got bent a little), so I hope it works well until I get my Module 1 spur and pinions. I hope to have between a 45-72T module 1 set of spur gears and a good range of pinions to help match good gearing for this. Great group of people here.. I'll have to post my other project on here for fun one of these days hehe.. |
I have a Jugg2, but I bet it doesn't compare to yours! I was into the crawlers a couple years ago, but the e-maxx is my ride of choice lately (well, for a couple years!). I would love to see your jugg project. It may just put some spark into me to get something done on my jugg or clodzilla.
|
Where should I post a Jugg project?
|
Good question! How about in the general discussion section.
|
So is your jugg project running yet? I have been tracking for a long time and I have never seen it run. I would check RCMT but supposedly I have to sign up again. I dont think I will go to that forum again. I have found a home here.:D
