Problems posting!!!!

Hey, has anyone else had a problem posting a reply to a thread in the Announcemets forum? I cant seem to make it work. It doenst appear that others are having problems with it because there have been may posts after my last one.

It gives me this error.

jhautz, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I have no problems posting anywhere else, but since the RCM Bash thread was moved to the Announcement forum I have been locked out. I know Metal man has tried to see if there was something wrong and didnt see anything. Can someone else (another mod or super-mod) take a look and see if they can figure out what is going on? I PM'd Mike, but I dont really want to bug him with this junk. He has enough to do. I'm sure there is just some setting somewhere that has me goofed up.

This is the thread that I can seem to get a post up in since it was moved. http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14770

Thanks in advance for the help.

I've had that happen many times on 2 different browsers, like there is a timeout on the login, but this has happened in other subforum headings for me. I always have cookies enabled, if I clear them then it's after I login, dunno but it can be extremely frustrating after making a long post w attachments and having it vanish into the ether.........

I just closed and re-opened the thread. See if that helps. Dunno why it would, but who knows?

Maybe like reshift said, it could be a cookie thing. Close all browsers, delete the cookies, and re-log in.

That's about all I can think of (and am allowed to do)

jhautz 09.05.2008 03:29 PM

Nope. Doesnt work. Thanks for trying Brian.

I dont think it is a cookie thing. I have tried from both of my home computers, my work computer and even my iphone and I get the same message on all of them. I have also tries it with IE, Firefox, and the apple safari browsers on my home computer. All give me the same message.

BrianG 09.05.2008 03:31 PM

Well, either Rene or Mike will have to look into it then.

jhautz 09.05.2008 03:33 PM

I just tried logging out, closing everything, deleting all the cookies, powering the computer off and rebooting and then logging back in and still nothing. :diablo:

Brian, did you go through the Mod section to see if you can change Jeff's rights? There isn't even an option there for whether or not he would be allowed to post in specific forums.

jhautz 09.05.2008 03:34 PM

Well.... I already PMed Mike so I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.

Arct1k 09.05.2008 03:36 PM

The RCM bash thread? As you can see i'm having no issues

Yeah, but there's nothing I can do there.

Edit: Jhautz, give it another try, I just tried something else.

MetalMan 09.06.2008 12:24 AM

Well, did it work? And which option did you change, Brian?

jhautz 09.06.2008 12:48 AM

nope. Same.

Thanks for trying though. Maybe mike or Rene can help if they ever come on the board.

I just tried things like locking/unlocking and unstickying/re-stickying the thread. Can't do much else except create a whole new thread, move all the posts to the new one, and delete the old one. Too much work. The problem is most likely with his permissions but I can't do anything with that.
