My WIP Revo Conversion!

I'm juggling two projects right now, my BL Savage and my Revo. I have a stock nitro revo that will become electric once the engine dies. My Dad had an extra stock Revo chassis, and I had these hacked up battery trays from my Savage and I also had an E-Maxx tranny. To save time I started converting my Revo now, so as soon as the engine dies I can drop in this conversion. So far I have the battery trays and tranny done. Does anyone know if the stock sliders fit on the e-maxx tranny? Hope you enjoy!

The front slider will not fit, so your going to have to pick up 2 rears. also your going to have to do A LOT of grinding on both sides of the tranny on the chassis.

Do you mean to fit the tranny on the chassis I will have to grind it out? If that's what you are talking about, I've already done that and fitted the tranny. Or do you mean to fit the sliders on, since the output shafts are close to the chassis? Oh, and do the Revo sliders fit on the E-Maxx output shafts? I'm probably just going to get dogbones made, since I'm going to have some big power in there soon.

You will have to do a lot of grinding to get the revo sliders to fit because of the e clip on the u joint, you also have to grind down the e maxx output shaft for the revo sliders to fit. I think you should just go get the dogbones casue you won't thave to do any of the grinding I mentioned.

Nice to see more evo conversions!

I forsee a lot of BL revo's in the near future.. perhaps Gmaxx has got something to do with it..

lol, so dogbones will solve the problem with revo the center drive shafts? u got to make custom one? Where can ya buy them?

E-Traxxer 11.03.2005 07:20 PM

I've read that Mike can get custom shafts made..? If not, I can always find someone that can do it.

its actually pretty easy to get the revo shafts to fit. all you have to do it grand, sand, file, ect. on the ends of the slider. there is a sholder that needs to be removed for it to fit on the e-maxx trannny. also, as ttrmike said you will need to rear.

On my evo i'm using two rear revo sliders. Like I mentioned there will be a lot of grinding to use the sliders. I'm not completly sure that dog bones will cure your problem or not, but I do know that you have about a 1/4 in. of clearance under the e maxx output shaft. if there are any dog bones that the cup (were the shaft pivits) are only 1/3 in diameter you should be okay. As far a were you can buy the dog bones I don't know.

@ Serum: Gorilla maxx probably has somthing to do wiht the more conversions, but I think some people just don't want to wait for the kit to come out, or people want something custom that they build and that was there idea.

Yeah, I could spend around 250 on the G-Revo, but why do that when I can do this for FREE (besides the motor and speed controller of course). I'm not racing this, so low CoG isn't very important. Besides, I like to do things custom. ;)

Yeah! you are doing a great job E-traxxer!! Sorry for not giving any comments on your truck..

Tweaking and tinkering is a nice part of the hobby!
