Custom LVC on MMM causing issues?
I really want to set the LVC on my MMM to 3.2/cell but I have read in several cases where the ESCs have failed only after this setting has been changed.
I am wondering if there has been any official response from Castle regarding this (if it's a bug, if it's just coincidence, etc). I just puffed one of my 4s 5000mah packs due to the lack of an LVC so I'd really like to enable it. Thanks, guys! -Jeff |
Good question and I just set my LVC to one of the default settings..12 volt I think it is for 4x cell lipo..dont want to do it through link as like you a bit paranoid about it and its still going V2.
Look forward to others veiws. |
This is interesting as most of the bec failures including mine that I have read about have mentioned using a custom set LVC.

Hmmm Ive been running my v2 at 12.6v for a 4s setup and never had a problem. seems to be fine but i never run it down to the LVC wonder if thats why

Well, I just changed some settings through the castle link. Worked fine. Turns on, runs normally while sitting on my desk.
I have between 30 and 45 minutes on the ESC with default settings so far without any issues. Let's hope my adjustments did not doom the MMM! I'll be testing it tomorrow at the track for one or maybe two battery packs if time allows. I will report back tomorrow evening. -Jeff |
Mine died after 3min and I never changed any settings - I just calibrated for the controller
and drove immediately. I didn't even turn the LVC on. |
I ran it for 10 minutes around my house for fun with the updated settings and 14t pinion. Looks pretty great so far.. We'll see how it goes tomorrow at the track.

will be keeping my fingers crossed for you..havent done any settings via castlelink and ran again today and was virtually flawless but switch is funny and well think its the switch as wont turn on sometimes but when it does then it is fine.
funny thing was today when I turned the servo to the right it wanted to go slowly in reverse and when I hit the brake and boy it brakes and must turn it down to 75 percent as to strong it wouldnt go in reverse but found my Nomadio had to much epa braking so once turned it down it ran sweet and pulling wheelies with ease...may it continue:yipi: |
Alright well..
I ran it at the track today.. it ran great even with settings changed.. My batteries got pretty warm though (117) in the afternoon sun. I don't know though. I might sell my MMM and just stick with the MM until a better ESC comes along. I already fried one battery pack and I don't want my ESC to go up in flames and burn out my receiver. I'll make the decision over the next few days. -Jeff |
Mine died on the second run and I didnt mess with any settings. The lvc was turned off per factory programming. I dont think changing that setting makes a difference. I also didnt run my battery down. It died 30 seconds into the second pack.

I purposely didn't change any settings today on my 2nd v.2. Mine died today

1. How much use has it seen before it died? (how many hours/minutes 2. Did it take any other components out with it? (receiver, servo, etc) -Jeff |
Mine ran for about 10 min on first run 30 seconds on second run. It didnt take out any components with it.

No other components were damaged. All driving is done on a track. |
