questions before a LSP brushless project
Hi all
I'm new here and I will like to get your help to build my first brushless truggy . i have allot of experience with electric RC but i never done any nitro to brushless conversion yet. i want to convert a new HB LSP with a Novak HV maxx system i know that allot of people don't really like this system but i think it will satisfy my needs. i want to build this truggy for racing tracks so i don't care about the top speed or thing like that . i think of getting the hv maxx with 5.5 motor and use it with a 4s lipo now the questions do you think the 5.5 motor is too fast for driving on track? what pinion size should i use? do i have to change more parts accept the brushless motor mount that i will buy from the site store? how much running time i will get from 5000mah 4s lipo? do i need a ubec? thanks all i really want to start build all ready |
Welcome
You should just need the RCM mount - I would get the 5mm rotor upgrade - Check out the novak area as they were offering to give a few away. The battery trays are worth looking at - The speed calc can be used below to work out your pinion - Gear for about 37mph for the track http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/index.html |

the 5.5 is to high a kv even the 6.5 is too i have a 6.5 geared 11/48 at 11.1v the top speed is 36mph i race so this is alittle higher than i want but it stays very cool power is supriseing good the only other parts you will need to get started is a plastic center diff gear and a pinion im useing a castle creations bec since in only useing one battery lead and a 3 cell novak smart stop for the lipos im getting about 20-30 min of run time on a 5000mah lipo on tight tracks here is mine http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14909 |

so maybe i should go on the 7.5 motor? and if i will use a 4s lipo it will cause the motor to get warmer then with 3s? also a friend of mine advice me to go on the mamba monster esc a neo motor so what you think? |
if you are going novak then i would go with the 7.5
i would wait for castle to figure out how to fix their problems with the mmm neo motor? i havent used a neo yet so i dont know. if you can afford a Nue motor then its worth every penny, a 1515 1.5D would be perfect |
