best Neu for speed

I'm building a E-revo for strictly on road speed runs. I'm going to be using Zippzy 25C batteries along with a MMM V2. My question is what Nue motor would you guys suggest for this setup. Again this is only going to be used for speed (no offroad) I have a bashing truck already for that.

Thanks!

neu 1515 1y or a 2,5d :yes:or a 1,5d(extremly fast but high current draw)

I already have a 1y for 4S basher, so maybe a 2.5 is the ticket

Are you planning on running 4S or 6S?

6S I would go with the 2D.
4S I would go with the 1.5D.

You could easily gear into the 50-60mph range with ~40-45k rpm. You said you wanted speed runs so I assume you want faster than a racer. I would also get the 17mm wheel adapters and run with the HPI Phatline tires - great on-road tires for a truck because they are so low profile.

If you are going to running Zippys I would go for 6S/5000mAh to keep amps and temps down.

gearing is your friend you dont need the fastest turning motor...you get get speed with torque and gearing up

Thanks guys... Yes I will be running 6S and already have the 17mm Phaltlines. I do plan on messing with the gearing but I just want to make sure I get the most efficient baseline motor and go from there.

So the choices will be 2.0D and 2.5D.

Anyother choices?

Thanks

well if your batts can push the amps needed, maybe get a 1521..

gearing change is nessicary to get the motor using power the most efficiently... it will be required

The 2.5D gets my vote. That things hauls and stays cool.

+1 i would go 1521 or even bigger

Will the 1521 fit in an E-revo.

Not likely. The 1515 just about fits without hitting the rear shock mount in the low-cg mount area.

Since you are talking about a "speed run" setup - IMO I think with the 2.5D you'll have to gear down too much for high speed. I would go for the 2D.

In this case bigger is not better as at these power levels your batteries are the limiting factor. I would go with the 1515 1Y. This is the motor that castle creations recommends for the MMM and 6s and they claim 60 mph. The 1Y has just a bit more rpm than the 2D, and Y winds are slightly more efficient than D winds.

I have the 1y and 2d used both in an emaxx (same drivetrain as erevo). If you're going for max speed on 6s, 1Y for sure. Youll need mikes 1/8th revo diffs very soon though. The 2d on 5s is a nice basher, then again so is the 1y lol.

Thanks JJ, I alreay have the Hybrids V2 in. So many options. Some saying 1y others saying 2D or 2.5D...

Thanks
