motor for a mbx5r

hey i just got a mbx5r today and i was looking at motors for it. i was thinking of a 7xl motor. i dont really want to spend that much on a neu motor yet. would the 7xl motor run good with out getting to hot?

this was my planes for it

mbx5r
7xl motor
4cell lipo
mmm
was going to use a 16t pinion. (dont know how many teeth the stock diff gear is but im guessing 46t)

thanks

I would go for the 8xl or 9xl. I ran the Feigao 9xl in and old buggy I had a while back for about a year, and it ran great... with pretty cool temps too. I had speeds in the low to mid 40's, so I wasn't wishing I had more.

would the medusa 35-50-2200 be ok for it.

I have a 9xl in my mbx-5 now..it does run hot, especially w/the mmm. I bought a 1512 1.5yF and it runs 30* cooler. As far as the Medusa's go....try the 60 series, a better choice than the 50 series on 4s...IMO
I am getting a 50 series for my crt.5

The stock spur is 46...mine is geared 17/46 and I just switched to 5s
