neu motor shaft flat ??
 
just wondering how you guys are putting a flat on the motor shaft for your pinion ??...does it actually need one ?? i tried a mild file and didnt even scratch the surface,so i figured i better ask before i ruin something ....thanks guys for the help

My new neu came with a flat spot, but a dremel works great.

yeah i was wondering why i see some with a flat ...the date on my box says it was assembled a couple months ago but i guess some don't have the flat (i wish mine did)....i was gonna try the dremel but wasnt sure what tip to use and i didnt want to screw it up ,but i'll give it a try ...thanks Gooberseptember for the help

I always grind the shaft down on my motors... just extra insurance. I use a grinder wheel to do this and it usually turns out pretty factory looking. Its really not hard to do at all as long as you keep the shaft from turning and at the same angle to the grinder wheel the whole time.

I used a dremel won't take long. Put some tape over the holes on the motor to stop shavings from going inside the motor

I dont on mine I just use some blue locktite on the pinion set screw and have had no problems

I do the same thing as well as use blue lock tight....no problems since
