Quick Question, Should i run external or internal BEC

I would just run the internal bec and if it cooks, return it. You batteries will not be able to run with the 1.5d. I have a similar combo in my erevo, and even the trakpower packs get hot running the 1.5d. Maybe go to a 1y and conservative gearing and the proteks will be ok? The 1.5d can make seteios power, but is amp hungry. My truck is geared 19/50 mod 1, everything else is stock.

trev3813 09.14.2008 06:43 PM

ok so run a 1y, anything else look wrong?

lincpimp 09.14.2008 08:06 PM

Better lipos would be a good idea. With the 1y a pair of trakpower lipos would be good.

brushlessboy16 09.14.2008 08:12 PM

from what i have read proteks are a good value for the price, and hes running it in a little e-revo it cant be pulling that many amps...

my zippys can keep up with my motor..

trev3813 09.14.2008 08:20 PM

Are zippy's really that bad? Im still unsure off how im doing this, Hey linc, what are you running?

Takedown 09.14.2008 08:31 PM

If you have high dough to spend look into PolyQuest, Enerland, A123, TP, FP, TRC...

BL_RV0 09.14.2008 09:02 PM

Here's what I'd run, if you're not heart-set on running 4s:

1. Tekno Neu 1515 3d
2. MGM 22418
3. 2 FP 3s 5000 packs

brushlessboy16 09.14.2008 09:04 PM

he wants 4s..

and apparently he wants a blacked out truck dont think tekno neu will work :D lol

Poly RC Professional "XQ" 30C 7.4V - 5000mAh: $119 2 $239
Neu 1515 1Y: $255
Hyperion EOS 0606i: $99.99

I would consider pre ordering a MMM 1 Y combo - failure rate of the MMM is of concern but the combo can be had for 260 saving you 140,,,

now it seems if your going to run 4s your better off with the 1.5d...no?

trev3813 09.14.2008 09:30 PM

1.5d i was told there would be heat issues

E-Revonut 09.14.2008 09:39 PM

I have the hyperion EOS0606i charger. As nice and convienient as it is being an ac/dc charger it's not powerful. If you plan on charging your batteries in series as 1 4s battery it will not do it at 1C, the max on 4s is about 3A. Just letting you know that you'll be looking at longer than 1 hour charge times

trev3813 09.14.2008 09:44 PM

LOL Im just doing what ben says,

Bennyhill016 (9:42:49 PM): do you mind that?

Revotrx3 (9:43:08 PM): o
Bennyhill016 (9:43:11 PM): like 1hr 20 mins
Revotrx3 (9:43:24 PM): hey, ya gotta do what you gotta do
Revotrx3 (9:43:30 PM): its gonna suck
Revotrx3 (9:43:35 PM): but o'well
Bennyhill016 (9:43:35 PM): lol
Bennyhill016 (9:43:38 PM): post that
Revotrx3 (9:43:42 PM): what
Bennyhill016 (9:43:53 PM): that you know that it will charg slow
