MIP CVD 2.5 Versus Traxxas 3.3 CVD (5451r)

Hi,

Anybody out there with any side by side photos or measurements of these two CVDs for comparison? Any help will be appreciated...

Tower has the measurements listed in the description for each. I think the 3.3s are about 3/8 to 1/2 inch longer.

The 3.3's arent any longer than the 2.5's. Both are interchangeable with the other - so if you are wanting to know if one or the other will fit your truck, they will. My vote is dont waste your money on the MIP's. I went back to the stockers after bending several sets of metal CVD's over the years.

They'll fit? I thought the 3.3s were wider... I actually just bent one of my CVDs in the weekend... I didn't know these things were so soft....

Thanks for the quick reply guys.

The 3.3s are wider because of the knuckles.

I have used both. The 3.3s are more durable, cheaper and lighter. The only problem I have had with them is rubbing on shock spring cups.

Well I recently tried to fit the 3.3s on my truck, but they won't work with the knuckles I am currently using which can be seen here..

 Cool... These are integys (UE knock offs).... Not as nice as you would hope them to be... Here's a side by side of the CVDs: http://picasaweb.google.com/khfranci...65333726770962

Did UE make a shaft? If so that sounds like your best option if you could find any.

Well yah... the UEs would be nice, but they are the same length as the MIPs I have, I think .... The main problem I'm really facing is the drive cup that came with the Hot Bodies Lightning diff...
It's a little short for the CVDs.. I have tried Mike's 1/8 diff output shafts which facilitates the use of longer dive cups, but they didn't last too long.... So I had to revert to the lightning cups... Now i'm in search of longer drive cups or longer CVDs..

Will anything from here work?

Not sure.... but i'm going to have a look around for some specs on these cups...

thanks man..
