on hold-ship now payments with ebay?
hey i just sold my iphone on ebay today and ihave received the payment through paypal
i get an email saying You've received a payment, detailed below. We’ve placed a temporary hold on the funds for this transaction. PayPal and eBay are working together to make payments for eBay items even safer. Because we want both buyers and sellers to feel confident about sending and receiving payments through PayPal, we may temporarily hold payments for items sold on eBay. i login to my paypal and get this. PayPal balance Currency Available Pending Balance U.S. Dollar: $8.66 USD $633.96 USD $642.62 USD is this forreal? or is ebay holding all paypal fees on every item? |
It's annoying, but it does make sense. As soon as you ship the iPhone, and they are notified, you will be able to access the funds. Unless they need buyer confirmation. In which case, that sucks.....
|
they have to leave posotive feedbackl for your funds to release i just went through that
|
ebay is becoming more and more of a PITA to do business with. Seems to make it easier for scammers to pull one over. I only buy there now, no selling.
|
You must be joking. Are you a power seller or something or regular Joe transaction ? Whata fin joke, I sold crap there on a whim to impulse pay for other stuff................... I was given control and money rights to the remote control section at Wigix.com. I have done nothing and only had 15 days to do my stuff, Im not going to, so in 2 days the spot is open, sounds like a good money maker if you give a turd and want to screw ebay, I dont. Seemed like too much work lol http://www.wigix.com/ Heads up for some of you
|
im just wondering if its for real.
im making huge profit on the iphone so i wanna do it but i just need to know if its a scam or not. seems like its real so idk. |
I dont want to be a panic button, im wrong alot, but i recall someone posting something similar in the last 2 months and it was some scam, they voided the transaction and had some happy ending that they had.
|
ya.
i issued a refund to the guy and told him to send the money outside of ebay. so there should be no way to scam me right? the guy seems legit and whenever the stupid oversee people try and scam me they never talk back. this guy sends huge paragraphs to me so we will see. i am 250 verified on paypal so i know somewhat about it and i think i should be fine now...............??...? |
Well you didnt ship so see how it goes, just sounds like crap, as I recall this dude had the same thing happen, Ebay doesnt do that as I see in any rules
|
I thought i had to do with the amount of seller feedback you had. If you didnt have more than 10 (dont know if that number is right or not, just a guess) positive seller feedbacks then they held it untill the shipment was verified either through a tracking number or positive feedback.
Any way you slice it, its total bullshit. Ebay is just F-ing with sellers. I have a bunch of misc stuff to sell on ebay, but dont feel like screwing with it any more. |
guy paid me outside of ebay and i transfered the money to my bank acct. i will supply a tracking number as soon as i ship it so we will see how it goes.
if i get screwed then ill know next time. |
I dunno man, better withdrawl that money asap, even then it can be reversed and you have to pay your own account back. Seems like to much work to make a buck, something must be wrong
|
way i see it nothing can happen now.
hes just some normal guy who sends me a payment. if i send the iphone to him and get a tracking number what can he do to get the money back? say that the package i sent contains rocks? he lives in the US so idk. i dont see how he could scam me now. |
Make sure you send it with "signature required upon delivery". I've even seen people who made a video of them packing the item so the buyer couldn't say they got rocks!
|
I agree with the above post. I had a transaction last year wherein the seller gave me a tracking number but I didn't receive anything. My credit card refunded me my $400. Paypal/Ebay/seller was not happy about it because they took out the money from the sellers bank account stored in Paypal's database. In the end, I got my money back. I only use my CC with purchases from people I haven't dealt with before and anything above $50 (except Luciano).
If I were you, I'll be wary about it. It seems like it's too good to be true. |
