MMM V2 Fan

The V2 Fan kicks in at 150F. How often does the fan kick in for everyone? I still have my V1 running with the fan running the whole time (5S/2.5D) and the ESC never gets over 120F after 40+mins of non stop running

imo i think the fan should run all the time! 150* is alot of heat for a electrical item.
mine kicked in 2 times on 1 run then on the next run it did not run at all, i died before it hit 150*

yea i liked how the v1 had a continous fan also. i mean it sucked that it can get caught in the break without you knowing it, but if CC made it some how where it would not get caught or break, then that would have been awesome. but since its not that way, i guess the v2 is better, less chance of the fan breaking and if the fan broke in your v1 and you didnt know it, big chance your v1 would overheat or just thermal.
my v1 never gets above 110 after entire run, most of the time, its around 100 degrees...cool as ice almost.

FYI, castle have said they are altering the mould for the MMM case, so the fan wont get caught in the grill anymore.

I torture tested my v2 today. I went to the track with 3 4s packs. 2 8k 15c and 1 5k 25c. I ran back to back to back for 6 hours straight. esc never got hotter than 135, motor stayed at 150 steady all day and batts were in the 103-107 range. This puts my v2 at over 40 hours of use now!

those are really great temps. just a question: is the motor getting to 77C too hot? esc was less than 130 and batteries were reasonably warm (40C)

the reason i ask is during a 15 minute main (using 2400mah!!) i stopped at 6 minutes, and every 2 minutes after that to check. at around 10 minutes it read this temp and i was like "o damn thats close to the threshold!" anyway, i didnt want to give up, so i went a little slower and it came back 68C and at the end of the race it was 62? any suggestions on why this could have happened? it was rolling free when i brought it in (checked to make sure) and power seemed the same. (e.g. alot)

would gearing up help at all? (running 13t with 1512 2D with a heavyish hyper 8.5) or gearing down? thanks for your help and sorry this isnt exactly th e best spot to ask but o well. its done now!
ryan

Unmodded as of right now. I may do some dremel work on the case though. My "pad" is starting to look a bit worse for the wear.
