Which Castle motor to get when the MMM combos come out?

After my MMM went out I decided to try the MM 7XL combo everyone keeps talking about. PUt 40mm fans on the motor and the ESC and its been running solid for about a week now. I cant believe the power the combo puts out. I'm geared the recommended 20/68 and in 90 degree weather the esc doesnt go over 122 and the motor 145.

I really cant imagine much more power, but all the guys running neu's seem to think an XL can is nothing compared to the better motors and I'm looking to take the next step.

I read about the 2 new motors Castle will be coming out with. Seems like the 2200rpm version is going to be 75mm long, an the 2650rpm version is 67mm long. On 4S am I better running the 67mm version or getting the 75mm version and gear up a bit. I'll only be looking for 45mph range on an emaxx 3905, but I want as much torque as possible. Any opinions.

I would get the 2200KV Motor if you are running a E-MAXX,I have a TeknoNue 1515 1Y witch is the same as the Castle 2200KV Motor.I'm running 4S TrueRC 8000K 15C Lipo's geared 18/68 and the motor get's warm but not hot.The 2200KV Motor is going to be a good choice for a Monster Truck.

I thought all the CC/Neu motors were going to be based off the 1515 motors, and therefore the same length? Anyway, no one knows exactly how they will perform yet compared to a "real" Neu temp and performance-wise.

But, back to your question: it depends on the voltage you are going to use. For the 2650kv motor, I would stick with 4s. For the 2200kv motor, I would say 5s. For 6s, I would get a 2000kv motor minimum to keep rpms low enough.

brian,

I think he's right about the size of the can.
2650 = 1512
2200 = 1515
1800 = 1518

Hope they come out with a few more 1512 sizes. 2650kv with 5s is to much but seems to be good with 4S. Might look into getting some 4S batteries. Anyone know how much the motors will sell for by themselves? They are only listed on sites as a combo
