X-Terminators not that fast.
Drove my new (used) XTM X-Terminator today. The guy I bought it from made it sound like it was the fastest thing around. Unless that thing wasn't shifting into second gear (sounded like only a single speed to me) I would guess mid to high 40mph. I was by myself otherwise I would have had my wife hold the radar gun.
My E-Maxx deffinitely seemed faster. Now I know why MetalMan went brushless with his!:L: |
1/8 buggies are single speed, unless you mod them. 40's is respectable, but it might go faster with a nice tune.
|
Yah I spent about 30 minutes or so tunning it. I believe it is a Novarossi .21? I'll have to look.
|
i'll take that engine off ur hand if u dont wnat it! lol, brushless beats all!!
|
You should try working with the 2speed to see if it will shift (if it hasn't already). I never had a nitro one, I knew I wanted to convert it to electric from the start :).
|
But I don't think they came with a 2 speed standard, I'll ask the guys at work today and see what they come up with.

In Johnnys "look what I bought" thread is a picture of the buggy. You can see its single spur setup. It has no 2-speed modification.
40ish is a good speed from a (second-hand) nitro buggy. On most tracks this is more than enough anyway. |
Saw a Xterminator at work today, just the single speed.
Daf, good point, really all you need on most tracks is acceleration to boogie out of turns and you'll be good, when most people switch from a stock to a mod motor (in electrics) they actually have slower lap times. |
Thanks for checking dabid.
