7L on 8 cells?

I've got a feigao 7l on the way...that I will run with my mm esc on my thunderking project with 8 cells would that be ok? the truck is a large truck but it's a light one i'd say not much heavier than a slash... i want to only achieve around 40 top speed but want good run time 2 the batt is a custom home made hump pack with 8 gp matched 3700's

It seems like a 10l on 4s would be more suited...

ok...guess i could use the 7l on something else...but i guess the real question is will the motor get hot running 8 cells?

you just don't want to run past 35,000 rpm. I don't know the rpm/volt of your 7l, but just multiply your rpm/volt by 9.6 (your voltage) around 35,000 and you should be fine

3470x9.6v=33,312 awful close...means i'd have to gear it perfectly huh?

maybe i'll try this setup in a lighter vehicle...or a project car of mine that's coming up

I run a 7L on 3s on my crt .5 and it was fine - 8cells should be no issue....

Thunderbruiser 09.25.2008 01:11 PM

oh ok cool...that will probably end up being my next project 2 and crt.5 to race my buddies nitro one lol and i'll go lipo again when money permits..zippy's probably!

7l will be ok on 8 cells. Use a good heatshink, and try to get some airflow or a fan on it too. They run hot regardless, but optimum gearing and esc settings will help alot.
