round spur gear?

i have rounded 4 spur gears 34t and 3 36t?will a steel gear help or just start ripping diffs as gears are much cheaper?im running a mm 3s8000mah truerc 9xl. i like doing wheelies is this the price you pay for a tight clutch?

I have never damaged a revo spur, and I run my trucks hard. Are you setting the mesh correctly? I usually find that taking a regular piece of paper, and folding it in half makes a good gauge for setting mesh. Tear off a corner that will fit between the two gears, and press them tightly together while tightening up the motor. The rotate the gears buy hand to get the paper out. The mesh should be just about right. If it is tight when you rotate it by hand, redo the paper method at the tight area. The mesh should be smooth and not have too much backlash...

also check to see if you have any flex in the motor mount area

other then these suggestions id say try some punch / throttle control:lol:

Well, tight clutch, poor gear mesh, or something is loose is your cause. Maybe a combination of all. I too never ruined a spur unless rocks got in there. I personally have never ever ran a metal spur.

I bet you have motor mount flex going on. Check all your screws, make sure they're of proper length to allow enough bite and use lock-tight.

I would not use a steel spur either. The plastic spur acts as a mechanical fuse protecting more expensive driveline components.

lol last week i went thru 4 spur gears on my revo conversion, i had forgotten to tighten all the screws that held on the motor mount, fixed that and hasn't happened since. my clutch is all the way tight
good luck
i am a very abusive driver too, wheelies are fun:party:

found the problem presure plate is bent looks like it broke where the pin goes in. motor mount screws are tight with locktight.do they make a stronger presure plate?

RRP makes upgrade hub just the part that the pin keys into . I had the same problem in my 3.3
