LST 1/8 scale diffs in an Emaxx
Next project. So this has been done by a few members here before, including me. I did not care for the method by which the diff was held to the bulks. So I did some measuring and some material sourcing. Found some great thermoplastic that I could make the adapters out of. It is of similar material to the stock bulks. I was going to use al, but decided that plastic would be easier to machine, lighter and allow some flex. Here are some pics of what I have so far. I am waiting on the al front collars so that I can mod them to work. The bulks will have to be trimmed slightly to accomodate the wider nose of the LST diff case. Not much material to be removed, and can easily be done with a dremel or hobby knife.

Losi offers a variety of diff gears and cups, along with plastic and al cases. My intention is to test this setup extensively and possibly offer the components to anyone interested. I should have more info after I receive the front case collars. |
so many innovations lately linc, looks very nice- how will they hook up to the stock slider shafts though?

So I have been looking around, and it seems like the lst/aftershock diffs can be had for about 20 bucks each. And Losi makes a heavy duty diff cup to that looks very sturdy, and comes as a complete kit...

IIRC the heavy duty case is standard issue, not an upgrade?
I dug around I'm wrong, nice find Linc. |

Heres some other cool parts for the diffs, TiN coated gears should last a while, but are not cheap... http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=LOSB3535 |
no need, I looked around, I'm wrong

I am sure that the stock lst2 diffs, even the plastic case versions will be plenty strong for all but the heaviest truck with huge tires... |
How's this? Photoshop isn't working so I had to use paint. Excuse it lookig horrible.
