Kontronik FUN motor
Is somebody know this motor??? I've toast my feigao 10L today in my slash, and the only motor i can have before the next week-end is the Kontronik FUN 500-27. It's a 50mm can, 2700Kv.
http://www.kontronik.com/fun5002005e.htm It's $150.00 CAD Wait for your comments! Thank you |
Ive heard from many people that they dont have many advantages over simple feigaos of the same specs and are definately not worth their price.

OK finaly a friend of me (E-Mike, the MMM boyz:lol:) have ship me his feigao 9L back up motor!
But now i have to order a new one because i don't expect this 9L to have a very long life. I don't want to spend over $150.00 on a motor. For sure, a Neu 1512 is my dream, but it's too much money. What do you think of Medusa 60mm motor?? They don't have a very great choice of Kv, but the 2000Kv will be not to bad for me. |
The medusa 60's are suppose to be great. Their was a review of a neu 1512 or a 1515 up against a Medusa 60 series motor and the guy prefered the medusa over the neu. Kind of ironic but if their that close in performance than I wouldnt bother spending the extra money.
|
Well, but the problem is that the Medusa 60mm don't have Kv over 2000Kv.
I would like to try a 3300Kv. I just don't know if it's better to have a high Kv motor with a lower gearing, or a slower Kv motor with a higher gearing. My Feigao 10L, on 11.1 volts, geared 17/54 (32 pitch) had good on power and ran cool, but i would like to know if a higer Kv with a 12 or 13 pinion will be better:neutral: |
I would have thought a Medusa 50mm 3300 would be fine... I run one in a CRT ,5 and have had no issues...
|
I've think about the medusa 50mm, 3300Kv, but i think that it'll be little slow for a Slash. I'll prefered a 60mm
|
It is a little torque monster - Mike uses the 60 2000kv in his e-Revo which is much bigger than the slash...
|
OK guys, thank you for all your input, but i just order a Neu 1512, 1.5d/s on Impakt RC.
|
Funny!
|
.......................................... Not really, but a good purchase indeed.

Not sure about everyone else, but are you running 3s with the 4600 Brian? I've heard from magman that the 4800 medusa on 2s runs powerful and cool, too.
|
No, 2s right now. I know simply going to 3s on a lower kv will be worlds better, but running 3s on the 4600 would make it too fast. I'm already at 46/12T on the gearing with 2.2" tires.
|
I'll try to get some runs in at the weekend but have not had an issue with temps at all - I have it geared 18/46 on 2.8 for 2s at the moment - But also run 16/46 on 3s...
I need to hook up with Lutach for some speed runs on 18/46 4s... |
