quark pro
so ive got a quark pro(used)what is the thing to do for run on 6cell lipo????i know that i should add a bec but what about the wiring and the heatsink???any modd??
and the thing that i should not do.....(i dont want to melt the esc:lol:) |
5S used to be a bit hot or miss on this - heat sinking will depend on the condition of the internal thermal pads - They used to separate from the FETS and stop conducting heat - mike used to make a kit for modding them.

5s works fine.. 6s fully charged i heard caused problems. not sure if there was a fix for that or not. to get it to run faster, you can replace the thermal pad with a copper shim, w/ thermal epoxy.

sorry, my quark had a thermal pad holding the fets to the case. it's a few years old though, so I'm not sure if they changed it.

Mine never had issues out of maybe 10 packs running a 1515 2.5D on 6s, and about 15 minutes with a 1515 1y. I had the rcm quark heatsink and a 40mm novak fan, no caps or internal mods.
|
I guess i have been lucky, to have no problems with mine yet. Mine will cogg slightly on a 6s fresh off the charger, however, if you let the battery set for a day or two, mine works without incident. I prefer 5s with mine though. Current setup is, Neu 1515/2.5d/f, Quark 125, 4-5s lipo, G-Emaxx tranny w/strobe 51/20 through 1/8 diffs in a Gorilla revo. It runs maybe 20* above whatever the temp is outside, no matter how hard i run it. I love this ESC
|
Wow. Those temps are incredible with only 1 fan. Where's it on the esc?
