Are these dyable?
 
Looking to dye some rims...are these dyeable? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMV43&P=7 Some rims say that they can be dyed and some do not. Just wondering if these will dye.

haha usually when you are trying to find something specific you seem to miss it for some reason....

ever look for something in the fridge and you just CANNOT find it so you ask someone else where its at and its right in front of you?...

or is it just me:oops:

Hell yes they are.. let them soak in the "HOT" water for about 40 minutes and they will be looking good.. you will need to find something that will allow you to soak them all at once, or they might turn out different collars..

I did a dye thread somewhere months ago but here is what / how I dye my things in.. For what it worth..

Yes I still use the cooler for drinks, it just black inside.. the wife hates me, but after 18+ years of marriage who gives a crap.. :lol::lol:

Put a little vinegar on the boiling water prior to immersing the wheels. The vinegar helps in opening the "pores" in the plastic making the dye stick better.

hey td you selling that yogurt? j/k so you mix the dye with the hot water then let the wheels soak for 40 min in the solution? Sorry for hijacking just curious as i may start dying wheels.

Yes, it fairly simple, just use the liquid dye (not the powder), you will be stirring it occasionally (once every 5-10 minutes) keep it as hot as you can (IE) the cooler works best because it gave the option of covering it and the insulation kept the water (fricken hot) the entire time..

post some pics when you done.. (before and after) so we may certeak your work (as always) :na:
