A switch for 2099
I want to put a switch on my maxx is it ok to just put it in series with the batterys
That won't work unless the switch is rated for 100amps! Just about the best way to make a swith work would be to splice the red receiver wire (positive) and stick a switch on that (in series). This would be for if you use the BEC, as it would power down the receiver, so the controller can't get a signal. If you use an external receiver power source, then you could put a switch hooked in series with the positive wire.

No, using a switch is not an option.
The switch will add resistance. Why would you use a switch? |
fed up of having to take the shell of to plug the batterys in but guess ill have to get used to it
Yeah... no other option.. Or you need to route the cables a bit different.
If you can find one of those lightning-rod switches, the ones Igor uses to bring dead people back to life, you know, those big levers wich throw inch long sparks, it would work :L:
You can use it as a shell too! it might need another set of shocks and a stronger BL setup.
The switch will work inline with the positive wire on the receiver connection. In fact, that's how nitro vehicles have their switches (between RX battery and RX). You would just need to keep the wires short.
Yeah, but after a run, you still need to unhook the cables, because the esc will put them dead empty.
i modified the stock swith to fit there with the stock chassis but now i have a gorill maxx there is no where easy to mount it near the Rx and like serum says id still have to take the casing off to un hook the batteries.
If you don't like that, your in the wrong hobby.. :p
i dont mind to much just thought it would be easier to have a switch and now would have been a good time to do it as my cars allready in pieces waitng for bits to arive
